Have you read last month's Fortean Times? Jenny Randles' column is about working on that ep of Central Weekend. At the exact same time, she was consultant on a UFO storyline in the dying days of Crossroads (again at Central).

2024-11-11 16:19:29 +0000 UTCYeah, they are lacking that kind of 'engagement/enragement fuel' of similar modern shows, who clearly send the researchers out for the most divisive opinions. From the plea for callers at the end of the episode, they seem like the equivalent of open-line call-in radio shows: if you get through, you'll do!

2024-10-22 20:33:56 +0000 UTCWhat struck me then (and the effect is even more dismaying now) is how flat and beige these shows were. Dull presenters, dim studio audiences, no one with anything of interest to say. Even the paranormal got sucked into this bottomless pit of mediocrity
