Surely Johnson would be 'Howling Mad' Murdock?! I'm beside myself at the thought of him as Hollywood's new Mr. T. Like you, I found that article, and my God, the reviews for the hostel. One star after one star, stuff about bedbugs and a rude manager, "no flushing toilet," "the smell of urine and blood-stained pillows," and "I would have been raped." One person woke up to a mouse eating their snacks (ironic, considering). One's simply titled "Animals in the walls." I wanted to stick a couple in there, but thought it best not to, legally. Pretty sure it is him though, as there's a manager's reply on TripAdvisor from the name SteveJohnsonWork ("We are disgusted that a disgruntled guest weanting to get a refund would use the allegation of a possible rape for their own selfish gain.")

Steve Johnson was a really weird one, as despite basically vanishing from TV, me and my friend both *swore* we saw a story on Teletext that he had been cast to play Mr. T. in the upcoming A-Team movie (which didn't even get made for about another 15 years) so always assumed that he had a bright future in the media. The only info I can find about him now is a paywalled article (pre 9/11!) saying that he liked riding motorcycles, and that he invested his TV money into some terribly reviewed youth hostels just outside Brighton. Would love to know what he's up to now.

"Give it a minute, will ya? I'll tuck it in me waistband" has continued to make me laugh all week.

The Mark Heap/Two Marks/Mr. Heap and Mr. Wall confusion took me a long time to unravel as an adult.

Ghost Train was the drizzling shits, save for Mark Heap who's likely put it all very far behind him. It wasn't even Heap & Wall, that was Dizzy Heights Hotel. It was Mark Heap and another Mark, they were the two Marks.

Yeah, Crane went straight to What's Up Doc and its collection of nightmare characters. There's enough of that show for me to do a video at some point, but sadly not (as yet) Ghost Train, of which there are just a few short clips.

Cheers, Ross.

I really do enjoy these video essays. Brilliant work as ever.

Good to see Frank in his Timperley Bigshorts kit. They tried to have a running narrative on Ghost Train as well, with Barry Mafia and Heap & Wall trying to take over the eponymous ghost train which was protected by Nobby The Sheep. Did Motormouth evolve into the Warner inspired What's Up Doc, with a Big Breakfast bound Gabby Roslin getting replaced by a pre Most Haunted Yvette Fielding and Baljit?

Neil Buchanan being pawed at by Lesley Garrett looked as if he was about to do a 'Jackson Pollock'
