A Little Update and A Bunch of Stuff!

Wow! We've been super busy. I hope each of you are having a wonderful Monday so far! Along with a bunch of landlubber things like High School Graduations, Prom, etc...(Meghan is graduating this year), we're knee deep in prep for moving onto our next boat!

Yes, things are looking good so far. The attorneys still have the paperwork and are coming up with all the specifics but as long as there are no surprises, we will be moving aboard in the next few months.

Fortunately we don't have much 'stuff' anymore to deal with due to our downsizing before moving aboard the Lazy Gecko so it's much easier to move back on a boat. I've received a ton of questions about that very process so I thought I'd touch on it.

Getting rid of all the junk!

Ok, that was a hard thing for me to do...It all meant so much! Haha...I felt like it did at the time. Jeremiah was all about it. Let me tell you, once we got rid of it...It was like a huge anchor holding us to land had just let go and we could do anything...Go anywhere...It was so freeing!

We kept a few things in a family members garage...Important things mostly...At least we thought so at the time! When we got back from the 2 years aboard the Lazy Gecko, we found that most of it was, in fact, just junk and we trashed it. It's amazing how getting away from all the things we feel are so important for so long helps you realize how unimportant it can be.

So if you're thinking of going cruising full-time...Going on a trip...Or just needing to release a little burden...Go through a few rooms...A few closets or maybe a garage and either sell everything you can or give it away! I highly recommend it! Drop the stuff and start to live life!

It's all just stuff anyway! Mostly meaningless when it comes down to it but sitting here...Watching a sunset with my little boy who's going to grow up and leave my side...Or maybe sitting here with another loved one...Or even by myself...Not staring into a phone....Watching in awe as a magical sunset takes place! This is the type of moment that I want have...Not a bunch of stuff!

Love you guys!

I know EXACTLY what you mean! It can be really hard but I promise, once it went, I felt amazing! Like I could do anything in life that I wanted. You could always keep a 1987 motorcycle though...lol...I would have to find a place to store that! Yes, all photos are on hard drives and backed up to other ones not on the boat as well. Yes, time passes so quickly, it's scary!

Our Sailing Tupelo Honey project has been going well, but UGH!! We have been looking at our 1500 square feet Townhome and it is fully of junk. OK, I have a lot of junk for my motorcycle, old Railroad stuff, 35 year old junk, photos, that I have been promising to sell on ebay. We need to get rid of the junk, but I think I will need to find a good home for my motorcycle that I bought new in 1987 and put 100K miles on her - Rosie. Did you digitize your old photo albums? I cannot believe the kids have grown up so much. High School Graduation? WOW! Soon it will be College Graduation.

Good morning Ken! That's a great way to measure! We do (or did) the exact same and still continue with that motto...Believe it or not but things do begin to pile up on a boat as well ;)

Hey Brittney and Jeremiah! Great to hear from you guys. Yes, oh lord yes, junk, junk, junk.....we pack it away and only know how much we've got when we are moving, LOLOL After years in the military, I came up with a way to measure my JUNK.....if I haven't needed something, or had to hunt it down, or use it for six months, then I know I can get rid of it....and I do. Can't wait for the unveiling of the new 'home'....Congrats to Meghan!!!! Take Care, Love, ;)

Got my Swag today thank you very much!

True just 4 1/2 days on the beach for me made me seriously consider I am wasting my life in an office.

You are living proof of something my dad told my along time ago. When it’s your time to leave this world, you won’t be gaged by the number of toys you left behind but by the loved ones and friends you have. Try to life by those words everyday. Hope to see you on your boat soon.

I love how much you love what you guys do! It’s so awesome being able to go along with you in your wonderful journey!

Another great Sun Set

Great shot of you two!
