Here we go...Again!

The bottom of our lady is now painted, we decided on red! We've left her up on the hard and in the hands of some really nice people that will take good care of her while we are gone. She is currently sitting in the Florida Keys. The problem...A Cat 5 Hurricane that's headed her way (so far)...The plan was to leave her there while we travel to view some potential new boats. The plan is going well...but we're in the mindset that we might lose the Gecko. We can't go back, and wouldn't at this point. There's no real reason to...She's prepped, at least she isn't in the water. 

She's much more secure now than you see in this photo. Chains are on, sails are down as well as our canvass...But the fact is that is this hurricane hits the Gecko, she might suffer some serious damage. I guess we picked the right time to find another boat! That's what we will continue to do.

I guess you can say we are onto another adventure of living in a vehicle traveling from place to place looking for our new lady! We would've liked to have the Gecko sold before we move onto purchasing our new home, since it would be rather difficult managing 2 boats, 2 different marinas, etc. Probably not going to happen though...It's hard to sell a boat during hurricane season...Especially when one is headed for the boat haha

We've decided to not let the Lazy Gecko hold us back if we find the right girl. We're very torn between a monohull or cat, but I think we are hoping we can find a catamaran that sways us to make the complete switch. So far we haven't. It always seems that the cats we see are made with a lower quality than the monohulls we see...The details just aren't there. Maybe it's our price range...I don't know lol...We hope to find one that is awesome! 

So we head on! Do what we can to protect our lady and the search continues...The real concern isn't our boat, other boats or property at all. All that is just stuff.....It's with the people in the path of this monster. We hope and pray that everyone remains safe. Thank you Patrons!
