Woohoo! Last Wednesday we packed our rental car full, loaded up the little man and dog then headed north for Canada. We were going to attend my fathers wedding in Niagara Falls.
Our original plan was to fly out on Thursday, spend that night with Jeremiah's Mother in upstate New York and then head to Niagara Falls but that didn't work out due to my crazy anxiety that I get before flying. So this time went just like all the times in the past - Book a rental last minute, cancel flights and hightail it to our destination. I just don't see the point in enduring all that anxiety before a flight when I could just easily drive there. Plus it doesn't hurt that Jeremiah and I absolutely love the long drives due to our lifestyle, sometimes being months without having the power of four wheels under our feet.
The wedding took place at a sweet little B&B surrounded by a ton of wineries so you know that was a perfect setting for me. It was nice to be in a home that stood still on the ground and to be surrounded by family. We had a wonderful time sharing our experiences and talking to everyone about how easily they could do this dream too! It's always strange being the ones trying to push others to follow their dreams, explaining how simple it really is to just do it!
By the time the weekend came to an end, we had coaxed some to come on over to the sail side (they are powerboaters). Once we said our goodbyes I could feel the excitement set in of getting back to our little floating home. We are about 4 hours away from the Lazy Gecko as I write this. Our plan is to get back, clean her up, provision and then set sail to explore and enjoy the lower Keys! We'll be looking for sweet little snorkeling spots and some fun activities. We've had lots of suggestions on where to go in the Key West area so if you guys and gals have any to add then please do!!
Until the next time, all my wonderful Gecko supporters! As always, we love you all and appreciate all you do to support our journey!
