Hello Patrons!
Ok, here we are. The Racor primary filter is changed out with the new one. That was about $180 for the new unit. Then Jeremiah rebuilt the old with the rebuild kit ($30). So we have a nice new one and a spare which we enjoy having.
Jeremiah opened the fuel tank and this is what he saw. The tank walls look fine and the fuel appreared clear. Of course there's about 27 gallons in there so it's pretty deep, we don't truly know the condition of the bottom but here's what we think.
We pulled into a marina recently (last video) and the only fuel they offered was from a fuel truck that delivers to boats. There was a truck there filling up a yacht and we asked if he'd top us off. He did and that's the fuel we have here. We think the fuel he gave us was bad and had sludge in it, which caused the blockage when the pick up tube sucked it in.
So just to be safe, we found a great deal for a guy to come out to the boat and completely remove the fuel, clean the tank throughly and then polish the fuel as it goes back in the tank! All for about $100 which is great!
That happens on this coming Monday. So we get to do a few other projects between now and then. List is:
- Clean the water tanks out completely.
- Replace the fuel pump on the engine for a warm and fuzzy.
- Finish hooking up the watermaker and get it running.
- Replace our dodger (this is a big one that I'm hoping for as ours is now ripping).
Tonights mission is to let Jeremiah do his magic on the next episode which we want up tomorrow or Friday! Trust me...Boating life doesn't always mean relaxing life!!
Love you guys and gals!
