Written pre-fatherhood but released in the early weeks of parenting his first child, Scott talks about the transformation he underwent during this season – the self-assurance he now felt as a musician juxtaposed with the self-doubt of new parenthood and finding synergy between the two worlds.
Music and writing became essential in making sense of a new world and particularly the new-found, almost meditative experience of performing live. The importance of absorbing fleeting moments came with such clarity, dissolving the anxiety that had previously surrounded performing overnight and allowing Scott an on-stage liberation never before experienced.

This has definitely been on hold a while!... so weird to see Scott in full winter clothes while I'm here going through a heat wave 😂 This album has nothing but great songs and always takes me back to the time of its release! A song that I particularly love is Chapters, it's so beautiful and the references to the old songs in the lyrics really make it special to me! What drove you to make those references?
