Glad that you're enjoying your Alan Partridge journey so far! He is probably my favourite character ever. Zero self-awareness, awful social skills despite being a presenter. Craves validation from the public but despises everyone and considers himself superior. A child in a man's body, and full of anxiety. Hopefully after season 2 you get the chance to go back and check out his old talk show Knowing Me Knowing You, and you'll see how 'bad' it was and why it got 'cancelled' by Tony Hayers 😆

2025-06-29 13:36:23 +0000 UTCI like that you are moving things around ✨️ great reaction as always Mand. It's been such a long time since I've seen series 2 but I think it doesn't have the imaginary dancing scenes. I know you will miss them 😢 but you can always rewatch them in your own time 🙂

2025-06-29 06:32:03 +0000 UTCAlways good to see a Kitana cameo…. I agree with ya, mangoes, eh… I’m not gonna guess what’s in the drawer… haha… PTSD from that lol… Always fun, Stripey. You and Kitana stay warm down there…

2025-06-28 23:38:21 +0000 UTCYour opinion on mangoes is surprising and troubling. I would have thought you'd get good quality mangoes in your area with the climate. I grew up in Cape Town (South Africa) which has a Mediterranean climate and the fruit is amazing, and the mangoes are out of this world. In Scotland it is very hard to find good mangoes, they taste gross here because they have to be preserved to transport them from Spain or wherever they are grown. But when they are good, they are otherworldly and orgasmic.

2025-06-28 21:36:08 +0000 UTCSpent the day going back and watching your Peep Show reactions and now some Partridge lands! Would love Gavin and Stacey reactions at some point, very character focused I think you'd love it!

2025-06-28 21:06:58 +0000 UTCHomework for Mandy: Read article on the history of clocks. They existed for hundreds of years before batteries. They were early examples of precision engineering. Clockmakers were important members of the community. Mango’s are awesome. There are a lot of of varieties though. The White Album was a double album, that’s why it’s twice as long as other albums. It’s an amazing album, but I’d argue that 80-90% of their well known songs are not on it, so it wouldn’t work as a ‘best of’. A tiny bit that you may have missed: Alan was happy about the BBC guy being cremated. He must have thought there was a small chance of him coming back to life if they didn’t cremate him. Jurassic Park? I think most modern franchises will continue in perpetuity. Even if they stop for a while, they will start again. Your great grandchildren (or other people’s great grandchildren) will be watching the same franchises.

2025-06-28 17:40:46 +0000 UTCWhat a show, great reactions 👏👏 You'll be happy to know that the stripper dreams don't return in Series 2 (he does have one flashback towards the end of the show that's pretty funny tho) Btw, if you were just a little curious as to what was in the drawer (SPOILER ALERT) - it was a copy of the fictional Dutch magazine 'Dikke Vrouwen op de Toiletten', translated as 'Fat women on the toilet' 🤣🤣

2025-06-28 14:40:51 +0000 UTCHow Steve Coogan didn't have at least a tear in his eyes after that slap from the hotel manager is impressive, that looked painful.

2025-06-28 14:36:19 +0000 UTCI think with the amount of times Alan mentions "ladyboys" I've always assumed that that's what is in the draw; that kind of porn. OR it could be the thong Alan is always seen wearing in the stripper hallucinations.

2025-06-28 14:04:43 +0000 UTCI love Alan, I hope you continue with him after I'm Alan Partridge with his various other shows. This Time (the most recent) was great as was Mid Morning Matters, and of course the Alpha Papa movie, all have a particular early and memorable Taskmaster contestant as a big part. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe its Mid Morning Matters, Alpha Papa then This Time chronologically. Btw, something that's not clear when watching it years later but is kind of important context, there was a 5 year gap between I'm Alan Partridge series 1 and series 2, it was a surprise when it came out as it was assumed I'm Alan Partridge which was relatively old by then was only a one series show, I wouldn't so much be expecting a normal series 2 continuation, more a new show made years later with the same title catching up with Alan Partridge's life after all that time. :) So yeah, the drawer contents were a clear McGuffin like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, you're never meant to know what's in it and just left to imagine it's something ridiculous and gross, and probably sexual and not knowing and having to imagine is part of what's funny. :D it's likely the writer didn't know either.

2025-06-28 13:45:31 +0000 UTC🥇Yes Mandy, indeed all clocks started as windup..or clockwork as they say 😜 Basically: an assortment of gears which physically link the hands in the desired ratio. Seconds, minutes, hours etc. It works on either a windable spring or a weight that provides a constant pull onto a fork and ratchet mechanism. The little ratchet gear teeth are repeatedly caught and released from the fork which produces the 'tick' which drives the gears. There is more to it than that but I hope this satisfies your curiosity. Definitely an interesting end to the series with the drawer of mystery. 😂
