That being said I do remember my Grandma telling me where she was when JFK died, because for her generation, even being a Brit, it was that big and that devastating. I always remember her saying "I absolutely loved him". I dont think aside from the UK and Ireland that other nations could feel that about the presidency/leadership of a different nation but with it being America, and if they get kicked, we limp in pain... it would just be like 'meh' for any other country. The where when you when Diana died was a big thing though. Everyone can tell you where they were... ,just like every brit can tell you where they were at 9/11. I was 17, adjust come back from a 90's rave, and I used to have to leave my bedroom window open, and climb though it, because my mum would lock the house I wasn't home by 11pm. I climbed the house, snook through the window, got into bed a 5am on a coming down of ecstasy (mdma), been in bed like half n hour, when my mum opened the bedroom door with a cup of tea for me crying and saying, "they fucking killed her, the bastards".... I hadn't a clue wtf she was on about, but it gave me one hell of a comedown. until I woke up the next day and found out Princess Diana was dead.
