Travel Man - Bob Mortimer - Hamburg

OMG. Literally was thinking in another TM video "I hope we get to see MCL Speaky a little more Spany, and BOOM there it is in the intro. Muchos Gracious Senorita! X

Cash Back

Omg the first 15 seconds πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅ love it when you go all foreign on me πŸ˜‚ btw why only 32 mins??? They're hour long episodes, 45 mins without adds but with your rambling it should surely be an hour πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Josh sloan

Oh look bob Mortimer, bet your seat was soaking during this episode 🀣🀣

Josh sloan

Hahahah! Harry Potter sauce? You almost had me pull up the episode's transcript πŸ˜† HP is a British brown sauce, made by Heinz, named after the Houses of Parliament. The sauce is "an icon of British culture" and a worthy alternative to tomato ketchup imo πŸ˜‹

𝖦𝖺𝗋𝗒 π–¬π—ˆπ—‹π—€π–Ίπ—‡

Also no, never had corned beef πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Mandy Cane Lane

All great info, but I have one question. What is Harry Potter sauce? πŸ€”

Mandy Cane Lane

Hi Mandy! 3:30 This Ayoade ensemble, looks inspired by β€œRupert the Bear” πŸ˜€ In the first episode you saw, he also wore a casual beige brown suit, I guess having trousers and jacket the same colour gives it that monochrome look, he did pep it up with a sky blue shirt, and mustard yellow tie though. But to keep him warm indoors, he layered a woollen jumper / waistcoat in matching beige brown πŸ˜† 7:41 Mandy: β€œIs that (Labskaus) raw?” Have you not had corned beef? It’s a salt-cured brisket of beef, so can be eaten cold and has that pinkier hue, but the color looks more influenced by the potato mash and beetroot. Certainly not raw. Bob’s reference to corned beef hash 🀌 a no-frills, working-man’s dinner, simple, cheap ingredients, delicious. Add some ketchup or HP sauce. 17:07 β€œIt got you out of games” Games was/is the name used for a PE/physical education lesson, so he liked to avoid exercise. 19:38 β€œLike The Shamen, we start with the Es” - almost didn’t get that one, The Shamen were an electronic dance group in the 90s, and had a chart topping hit called β€œEbeneezer Goode” with repeated lyrics in the chorus β€œE’s are good” β€œE’s are good”. So they were celebrating the dance drug Ecstasy, also known as E. 28:33 Why aren’t there more natural looking bronze statues? πŸ€” Curiosity piqued, I had to check how practical it would be to keep that statue polished up like the finger, so naturally I consulted β€œBob Atchison’s guide to bronze patinas” πŸ˜† https://www.pallasweb.com/blog/bob-atchisons-guide-to-bronze-patinas.html Anecdotally, Mr Atchison says β€œthe statue of Chief Seattle in Downtown Seattle was stripped of its green patina and it was decided to go 'natural' and let the real bronze color age.Β  It was a horrible decision and the statue looked hideous in a year.” His advice is β€œif you want this look it is better to go with gilding”. So there ya go πŸ‘ I visited Hamburg, but never saw any of this stuff πŸ˜„ Thanks G

No sometimes pea soup is used to describe a dense or foggy environment. So I guess he meant that the mini break was dense in that a lot of people were doing it. Does that clear up the pea soup? 😁 Ayoade talks in a unique way most of the time.

Rusty Dog

Thank you very much, but I still don't get it! xD was pea soup trendy at the time?

Mandy Cane Lane

Lmao!! Love it!

Mandy Cane Lane

Makes perfect sense! 🀣🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

She loves when I tell her people write comments about her! Lol

Mandy Cane Lane

That line you didn't get at the beginning - "The mini-break is the new pea soup of nincompoopery" (a nincompoop being an idiot or fool).

Rusty Dog

The start of that video was like that time in friends when the monkey changed the language on the TV and nobody could understand it! We can all do friends references 😝😏

TrickUpMySteve

"David, I perform my own dentistry. There's no exclusivity there."

Squeesher

Bob does have a dentist for check ups, but does his own work 😜

Andrew Tarrant

Yay! Kitana made an appearance! Blue-eyed beauty πŸ€—

Squeesher

He is a very whimsical man! πŸ€—πŸ€—

Mandy Cane Lane

🀭🀭 I like variety πŸ€ͺ

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha! I did not know that! I was aware that Bob and Ricky Gervais had a fight as well, but think the video quality was too poor to make out well. I will check this one out. Thank you very much Mr 44 and everyone else who's name I can not see because Patreon is whacky! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€—

Mandy Cane Lane

#Facts! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Mandy Cane Lane

Lol! I have seen it on many! Horses hooves, important men's shoes, nothing else comes to mind πŸ€ͺπŸ˜…

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, well they do! 🀣

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHAHA! Exactly! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€£πŸ€£

Mandy Cane Lane

Just by the words he chooses, Bob can turn what would be a completely normal sentence into something that gives you endless giggles. He's a poet. πŸ˜†

I just did a bit of research and it says Bob vs Les was July 2002 for Sports Relief and the Ricky vs Bob was practice for Ricky when he faced Grant in December

Danny

I think Mortimer Vs. Dennis is the first one and then Mortimer Vs. Gervais.

Jeffrey44

They was both in 2002 round the same time. I think the Ricky one was first .Then they did Bob and Les. After Ricky fought Bob as a practice fight he fought Grant Bovey (Anthea Turners husband seems to be his claim to fame). this is just the fight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqvtESYZgSQ the Ricky vs Grant Bovey fight also had a build up documentary following them round. This is the full 40 minute documentary and fight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0rphwzRL0U

Danny

If one wanted to watch them in chronological order, what order would that be? Who did Mortimer fight first?

Jeffrey44

Even more, Ricky Gervais also had a boxing match against Bob Mortimer as a warm up match. Roughly a 6 minute video here of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-g56Fg_Z4

Danny

You seem to have taken quite a shine to this Bob Mortimer character. But read on, for I know of a video that might just be of interest to you. Something a bit different. A sport (or sports as an American would say) video. Do you remember Les Dennis? He was in Extras? You saw his bum that one time? Anyway, did you know that Les Dennis and Bob Mortimer once had a boxing match? It was about 20 years ago. It was televised and the footage has been archived in the form of a 26 minute YouTube video which I believe shows the build up and the fight itself. You are probably not interested but what if I told you that Bob Mortimer has hair in it? Interested now? It's here if you want to watch it and you should be able to get it on to YouTube if you wanted to do a reaction video. https://youtu.be/2_RYZHfKaJk I haven't actually watched it since seeing it 20 or so years ago. It might be rubbish. Sorry if it is.

Jeffrey44

Ringo Starr was Thomas the Tank Engine's pal in the UK. In America, his pal was George Carlin, from Jersey Girl!

Jeffrey44

I'd only ever seen that golden polished-area effect on statue dog's noses, never a lemon seller's finger.

Kirk Deighton

I have a couple of cousins who i haven't really met because ...well they suck lmao, comments like this is why i watch your videos.
