Read only after watching:
Also, FYI for those wondering, mosquito was in fact a stripy one and was neutralized about 10 minutes after filming this. I shall live to see another day, yay!
I always assumed you were around 22-25 ngl, that really shocked me, you must have some great moisturizer π€£π€£

I was soooo confused at first because I thought you were telling me 'belcro' was the correct pronounciation! π
π
Haha, definitely the lozenge's fault. π€ͺ And I don't need to be bias with Bob, his amazingness speaks for itself! π€ͺπ€£
Mandy Cane Lane
2023-05-05 22:37:14 +0000 UTC
Hi Mandy! Iβm late to the party here π
8:15 Did you really mean to say belcro and not velcro? You said it more than once too. Is that an Argentinian pronunciation, something completely different or just the lozenge? π
13:40 There are actually 2 Andys, Andy Cartwrite and Andy Devonshire. They are producer and director respectively and have been there since the beginning. Behind the scenes, but very integral to the show!
37:40 your bias towards Bob is soooo transparent π€£ That apple trick was completely spent in WILTY π Bringing on material from another show?! Outrageous!
Mark Watson and Alex Horne go way back, so the 150 text messages task does seem a little less messed up and more like a practical joke between friends.
Thanks for having us in your life π€ (2:00)

I think you might have heard it before because you've already watched the most recent New Years Treat. But chronologically, this is the first time Alex said it.

It was a lie? Robert, this is very disappointing if true. What do you have to say for yourself?

You've been a great host and that was a great episode, so much shenaniganiganininging... π€π€ͺ. When Mark sent that water cooler off and you realised, "omg, do I have this guy to win the whole series! I lost it π€£π€£, best moment of the video for me, that was hilarious. And please don't dieπ³

In this episode, Bob Mortimer says that he phoned up a radio show and claimed (falsely) that his son was a fast runner. You can actually hear him do that here... https://youtu.be/aaRGtrYKqys

Welcome back Mandy! The high octane thing is complicated. As you read, the term comes from fuel; the octane rating of a fuel denotes its ability to withstand compression. When used in a high-compression engine, this means a lot more power.
Engines and fuels like this tend to be used in racing. This is where the metaphorical use of the term comes from. From the high speed, high adrenaline, high risk action of motor racing. As such, you might say something was βhigh octaneβ that doesnβt involve fuel at all, but it was still adrenaline inducing and exciting. I expect most people have forgotten the origin of the phrase. I hope that helps!

Mark Watson is generally a nervous person, he genuinely used to perform his stand-up comedy in a Welsh accent instead of his natural English accent because "It enabled me to be uninhibited and hide slightly from the fact that I was doing stand-up. It's so weird hearing your own voice and the whole thing is quite a self-conscious exercise. So it was kind of a defence mechanism for me."

Do they have May Day in Argentina?
Jeffrey44
2023-05-01 17:12:57 +0000 UTC
A few weeks ago you said Britain always seemed to have bird flu. Now you have 100% confirmed Dengue Fever (or Dengue as an Argentinian might say) and possibly a fatal case of Double Dengue.
I'm very sorry to hear that but maybe you won't be so judgemental of other countries public health issues, perceived or real, in the future, if you have a future.
There are only three more episodes of Taskmaster series 5 to go. It's Champion of Champions next where previous winners Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Noel Fielding, Rob Beckett and whoever wins Series 5 compete.
Hopefully you'll at least get to see the end of this series but if you start Champion of Champions, remember you may not get to see the end, it's two episodes long.
