1:13:27 For a long time I thought they arranged tasks to give everyone episode wins too 😀 then I listened to the Taskmaster Podcast Ep 117 with Alex Horne, and here's what he had to say about that. The transcript starts at time 19:22 Ed Gamble: Sometimes, Alex, I think there’s some conspiracy theories going around that you as a production decide that someone has to win an episode. Alex Horne: Yeah, I can imagine that, but if we did have that as our policy, we wouldn’t have had instances of people not winning episodes, like Romesh, and also you wouldn’t get episodes as exciting as this one (S8E8) where it comes down to the wire, so I love it when everyone wins an episode, I really do, I *wish* everyone had a chance to win an episode, but some people are simply so bad that they don’t. And no, sometimes stars align, we never arrange the tasks with points in mind, *ever*, because that would be a much worse way of doing it. Ed Gamble: Also, as you say, Greg’s got so much leash you’re not ever going to be able to tell him how to score things or give them a nudge Alex Horne: No, there have been times before the show I’ve said to him, look “I would love it if this person did well on this task” and there’s no point me saying that. He will either deliberately do it wrong to annoy me, or he’ll remember it slightly wrong and do it the other way. Or he just gets flustered because I’ve told him to do something, so no, it’s never. 19:29 Getting all technical in proper Taskmaster fashion, I agree with you, Hugh's slide was just one little butt scoot. I also think Alex agreed with you in that clip too! You replayed it to hear what Alex said, he said "two meters Hugh" like he just announced now far his little butt scoot measured (including length of hugh + slide) and you notice Alex just stands there afterwards, and doesn't continue measuring Hugh after that. He only declares the full length in the studio. I think Alex decided to let it slide, pun intended, after seeing everyone else's attempt. 22:30 Noel's "only the longest of the slides" will be counted is also BS, since "only the first attempt counts" 🤬 🤣

Agreed, it really doesn't. I have wondered whether it was a pure sculpt, or based on a casting. I would say a pure sculpt, but, for example, Roisin Connaty took a casting of her head to Cats does Countdown as her 'mascot' on one episode (I think), and it looked really weird, kind of didn't look like her. Also, on a side note, I've been playing around a bit with Musou black paint (it's one of those blackest black paints) and is quite trippy how it effectively makes something lose all form. It has a very 'fuzzy' matt finish that, I think, randomly disperses any light that isn't absorbed. Very cool stuff.

OK, art discussion time! 👏 So first, in defence of the 'head' or producer of the head, comparing a 3d object rendered in a reflective material (and I can only imagine how distracting that is for you, Miss Mandy magpie 🤪😉), is very difficult to compare with the same thing with, say, a matt finish, or in this case, skin, due to the accentuation of raised areas that catch and reflect the light more, especially if not seeing the two objects in person, but through a 2d medium like TV or photo etc. Now having said all that, I agree that it definately doesn't look like Greg as presented. I actually think if you put a pair of glasses on the head, it would look a lot like Sean Lock, or maybe just Greg 100kg ago. Any thoughts?

Haha, no. We were actually very polite and were able to see these poor men were working non stop with ridiculous heat and lousy conditions. Most neighbours spent days insulting them and yelling at them. We asked questions politely, got out of their way and bought them a soda when they had nothing else to drink. 🤗 But yes. All in Spanish!

I was listening to the Taskmaster podcast t'other day (or the other day as an American might say). It was with Mel Giedroyc and it was about the Friendship is Truth episode but also covered her time on Taskmaster in general. Here are some highlights. - She mentioned that she filmed all her tasks over 6 consecutive days near Christmas. - She didn't notice that Little Alex Horne wore a tie for her. - She kept all of the wax seals for ages and then gave all but one of them to the mother of a boy who really likes Taskmaster. That's all I remember at the moment but it was quite interesting. They also spoke about how the trophy doesn't look anything like the Taskmaster.

When you and your brother were talking (or roughhousing as an American might say) that electricity man, was it all in Spanish? I was very interested when you were talking about how you mainly speak Spanish in a recent video as we only really hear you speak English (or American English as an American might speak).
