Behind the Scenes: "Artificial Intelligence" Shot Breakdown
Added 2018-12-24 06:05:03 +0000 UTC
Hey guys,
Here's a detailed making-of about one of the animated shots in the last episode. With free, slightly dry commentary!
What do you think about this format? It wasn't too excruciating to make, so I could do more if you like it.
Hope everyone has a pleasant holiday!

Such a complex task for seconds of video time! You are a great inspiration Cap.

Wow! Thanks for the behind the scenes video! It is mind-boggling how much complexity, ideas and skill are just behind a couple of seconds of one of your videos.

I thought it was very well presented. Well done :)

That is so interisting! Unfortunetly it happens to fast that the "consumer" forgets how much work all this (little) things cost.
But that fascinates me every single time. You do such a great work Captain. Thank you!
May you have a great new year and keep your fun at work ;)

This was great. Yes, please do more when you can.

Wait is Mr. Flare really just a wiggle? I thought you'd done something with "Audio to Keyframes"

Parts of this remind me of the old making of TNG clips showing the pass of the model 1701D with first the ship itself, then the pass with the lights, then whatever the third pass was, etc. Nice job!

But anyway, good content. I like it when you show how you make stuff.

This format works really well! Definitely the kind of thing I was interested in seeing when I signed up for the Behind the Scenes level.

Yes do more like these! I learn a lot, especially transitioning assets from Blender to AE (models, camera tracking) and how they work together. Question: What kind of light do you use for Mr. Flare? Looks amazing, I've always struggled with lamp lightbulbs in Cycles as I don't get a realistic effect.

Awesome stuff. It's great to be living at a time where consumer-level technology can produce stuff that used to be reserved strictly to those working in big animation studios and the like. And you're obviously a master of the tools that you use.

Wow, it's amazing to see the amount of work that you pour into such a small segment.

Thank you so much for this. I've been toying with Adobe After Effects recently, and your (newly) discovered channel inspired me to also learn blender and try to incorporate some 3d models in. This kind of explanation of your process is invaluable, and not something that any tutorial will teach you anyway.
Thank you
