Graham Chapman (the doctor who says "Take her to the foetus frightening room" in the first scene) was actually a qualified doctor in real life and on the sets of their various films would diagnose illnesses and provide prescriptions for medicines as required. In Michael Palin's diaries he is often referred to simply as 'The Doctor'.

2023-12-16 14:11:07 +0000 UTCThis was the first Monty Python movie I ever saw, as a high schooler at a friend's house. He was the self described "World's Most Exciting Bass Player". His Dad was an Antarctic scientist who worked multiple seasons at Scott Base (and whose hobby was was collecting rubbings from medieval graves.) I started laughing at the Crimson Permanent Assurance and did not stop. I nearly choked. I watched most of the Flying Circus at my friend's house and always ALWAYS came close to pissing myself laughing. More than 30 years later I still quote Python.
