Like i'm laughing my ass off at the ridiculousness of the whole thing and i feel like you're watching it like it's a real-life scenario. This is one of my favourite episodes, everybody trying to get each other sectioned, Jeremy caring about Mary up until the point the deed's to her pub are in Mark's hands so he immediately tries to leave so we know what his true intentions were. These characters are clearly pieces of shit, and the bad stuff that happens to them just makes the whole thing funnier for me.

2023-07-19 18:35:10 +0000 UTCSectioning is still a thing in the UK but it has a very high bar. You have to be considered a danger to yourself or others. I believe at least two doctors have to assess you and sign the necessary documents, one of them must be a psychiatrist. So yeah, it's not an easy thing to have done and there are different levels, each of which has a time limit. If you need to be kept longer then the requirements of an assessment are more strict.
