Suck It Weekly, Volume 24 (MOVIE POLL)
Added 2023-06-05 09:01:01 +0000 UTCLots to unpack this week, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
-NEW TIER ALERT: This week we have launched a new tier entitled "SPORTY (AND MORE CINEMATIC) EMBRACERS" with this new $7/month tier you'll get:
-Reactions to individual games/races and players/drivers in Football, Rugby, Formula 1, & other Non-American sports (both stick & ball and motor types) on Thursdays. Even though we've talked about launching this tier in the past both in private and with you all, the catalyst to finally launch it stems from Daniel's failed attempts to get reactions to individual Football players through YT's copyright filters on Arias And The Nation.
-Another movie reaction on Sundays, this time picked from a list curated exclusively by the both of us that consists of movies that either one of us have not seen (mostly me lol) that we put out on Thursday June 1st without any warning at all, sending our regular movie club into a panic that we had wiped the list clean (Sorry Lol)
-The first videos on this tier will be a reaction to the F1 2011 Canadian Grand Prix on Thursday, June 8th and a reaction to Pulp Fiction on Sunday, June 11th.
-This tier will also be our first to include A 7-DAY FREE TRIAL so you can try it out to see if you like it. It's our only one with the Free Trial as it includes everything at both the $3 Patron-Curated List Movie Club Tier & the $1 Newsletter & Unedited TV Shows Tier in addition to what is listed above.
-$5 Tier Will Be Gone In The Next 24 Hours: With the addition of the new $7 Tier we'll be retiring the $5 tier really soon, so if you are pledged to that tier and haven't already, please edit your pledge before you lose your benefits.
-UPCOMING YOUTUBE DIRECTION: As I talked about on a Community Tab over the weekend, we'll be taking the main YT channel in a slightly different direction than what we have been taking it due to a massive downturn in views, new subs, and money that, quite frankly, has put the channel on life-support:
-Un-vaulting about a dozen videos that didn't see the light of day on YT due to either copyright or something said in them that we didn't have the technological know-how to remove.
-Finishing The Ricky Gervais Show
-Resuming my editing down of episodes of both The Inbetweeners & The Moaning Of Life for YT whist making it clear in these edits that full, uncut versions are available on Patreon. Once I get through both of these my plan is to do the same for both Father Ted & Fawlty Towers, no idea how successful I'll be with the latter but I know it can be down with the first.
-Saving the weekends for Documentary Reactions as well as longer compilations, full episodes of Would I Lie To You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Graham Norton Show, etc. & series dedicated to folks like Fred Dibnah & Guy Martin. And lastly...
-MUSIC REACTIONS ARE MOVING: We will be moving music reactions over to Spencer Joyce Music. While it really breaks our hearts us to have to move music reactions off of the channel since that's how we started ETS21 & plus our entire friendship started through the trenches of the DC/Maryland Local Music Scene, unfortunately music hasn't generated new viewers & new subs since the very beginning of both our Ren journey & our Home Free journey. At the time of this post I've made a community tab on SJ Music asking for music reactions, so please go flood that comment section with music reaction suggestions. My plan is to do 2 reactions a week, one by request (i.e. YOU) in addition to one of a recent release from a hot Country/Rock/Pop artist. I want to use these reactions as bargaining tools to get my own music out there & build relationships with some of these artists.
-PEEP SHOW & THE IT CROWD: Both S2E2 of Peep Show & S1E2 of The IT Crowd are a go for this week as Daniel is back from Florida.
That's all for this week, LOVE Y'ALL & LETS CRUSH THE WEEK!!!
-Spencer (guy on the left)

I think both are great films in their own way tbf but must agree as an original ,classic piece of British film the Alan Clarke one tops it but it's hard to compare because same as the actual "hooligan" scene progressed I think the original is a more gritty film of the times (not getting political lol) where as the remake is a great view of the 80s through tinted glasses and shows more the start of the casual scene with the music and clobber (as we've both agreed some absolutely amazing wardrobe with the fila, sergio, Diadora etc and the amazing soundtrack) , I know it's the same film apparently but both are completely different lol

2023-06-07 02:02:01 +0000 UTCA dubbed version, if it exists, would ruin the experience entirely. So maybe it's best they skip that one because like you said it would be impossible for us to read the subtitles because of the small screen. It is a very good film though

2023-06-06 23:10:21 +0000 UTCAgreed about the soundtrack and the clothes in the 2009 one, but Nick Love had already made The Football Factory so I think him doing a remake of The Firm was unnecessary. The original by Alan Clarke can't be matched. Even has a cameo from Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell!)

2023-06-06 17:42:06 +0000 UTCOn June 6th 2019 Liam Gallagher's 'As It Was' was released in cinemas around the UK and Ireland

2023-06-06 12:14:00 +0000 UTCThe acting of Bruno Ganz is incredible. A dub version would ruin the entire film.

2023-06-05 21:32:16 +0000 UTCA dub version doesn't exist as far as I know. Its an excellent film but it might be difficult for some to see the subtitles on the smaller screen

2023-06-05 21:23:43 +0000 UTCDownfall is an amazing film. If you watched the subtitles version, no one would know what they are saying.

2023-06-05 20:11:43 +0000 UTCWas gonna say this, the Gary Oldman one. Its only just over an hour long too
Danny
2023-06-05 19:03:18 +0000 UTCReally can't believe how bad Liam Gallagher -As it was keeps doing on the polls ,definitely needs doing this is the channel oasis built, I remember you guys was the originals (and probably still are the only ones) to react to majority of oasis catalogue and definitely the best reactions ๐๐ป

2023-06-05 18:44:57 +0000 UTCControversial opinion there mate ๐ฒ Not gonna beat Gary Oldman as Bex or Phil Davis as Yeti but the soundtrack and the clobber in the 2009 remake are absolute class ๐๐ป, plus I reckon it could be hard for them to get the original across the pond and also think the remake would pull them in more as its more similar to Football factory and The Business ,both clsss in my opinion and obviously the firm and I.D are the originals (ID2 was shocking though)
Jack
2023-06-05 18:38:01 +0000 UTCI'm assuming The Firm is the original version from the 80s? Not the terrible remake!

2023-06-05 14:38:21 +0000 UTCWe haven't forgotten about it, stay tuned for next week's poll

2023-06-05 13:50:32 +0000 UTCIโd love you to do full length stand up, i really enjoy the clips you do but a full show of al Murray and all the many other comedians you have featured would be brilliant would definitely edit my pledge to see more of that

2023-06-05 13:30:33 +0000 UTCCan I suggest you might get more traction doing a deep dive into all of the Brit pop bands of which there was maybe 100 bands knocking around during the period. The blur oasis thing was just a media thing it was about far more than that. Could be good for your channel Spencer. There are some good documentaries on britpop on YT
