Suck It Weekly, Volume 22 (Movie Poll)
Added 2023-05-22 09:00:03 +0000 UTC-APOLOGIES FOR NO MOVIE LAST WEEK: We both had very busy weeks between Daniel going to Florida in a couple of days and me trying to find a new place & getting a movie in slipped our mind, so we'll give you two movies this week: TT Closer To The Edge & the winner of this poll. Keep in mind it might be a solo-dolo movie reaction because Daniel is going to be in Florida for a few days visiting his Dad.
-PEEP SHOW & THE IT CROWD: Both S2E1 Of Peep Show and S1E2 of The IT Crowd are a go for this week, which side note The IT Crowd was leading the poll when we decided to do it, it was only after we recorded S1E1 that OFAH took the lead. Apologies for the confusion and not setting that poll to end at a certain time, however the moral of that story should be that If You Snooze, You Lose. I will be coming to you from my hotel room in this week's episodes because...
-I'M ON MY WAY TO MARYLAND: At the time this is posted I'm already in a car on my way to Maryland, but just for today and tomorrow to take care of some personal matters (you should already know what if you've been reading these all the way through like you should already be doing) and to collect some stuff from Daniel that he graciously cleared out of the storage unit the other day. I won't promise anything because I don't like making empty promises, but I will be bringing my equipment just in case we can fit in time to record reactions face to face.

Around the time it came out, I saw it had great reviews, but not being into mountaineering it took me time to persuade myself to try watching it. After I saw that film it effected me for weeks.

2023-05-22 10:19:19 +0000 UTCActually I have a funny story about the Mods, I was about 8 at the height of the Mod revival and had a Mod Parka coat, in my head thinking back I always pictured myself being uber-cool, we'd all decorate our parkas with band badges, The Who, The Jam, The Specials, The Beat, The Selector etc. were all common badges used, but I was looking through some old family photos and there was a picture of little me proudly wearing my Parka, with all the cool band badges sewn on by my mum.... and also to my horror.... a Smurfs badge!!! ๐คฃ

2023-05-22 10:11:20 +0000 UTCHas to be Quadrophenia, I grew up in Colwyn Bay which was another of the main Mod rally destinations, I used to love it when the Mods were in town, the local council would let them sleep on the floor in a nightclub on the pier, and funnily enough I also lived in Brighton for 10 years where they shot the seaside scenes in Quadrophenia, to this day you can still get guided tours of the filming locations. Seeing as you both love music so much, I think you should definitely also watch the classic rock opera's 'The Wall' and 'Tommy'.
