Added 2023-02-15 11:16:30 +0000 UTCThe lengths we went to in order to find this episode were so: 1) Can't find a working DVD player for the laptop, 2) Can't find it on YouTube because TOS, 3) Found it on Dailymotion but an annoying Ad kept playing & bleeding into the audio, so we found it on....FACEBOOK!!!
And it was worth the trouble because we now know why it's considered one of the greatest episodes of British Comedy TV! Our abs we're in PAIN after this one!
And yes I'm late, I know. I pulled an all-nighter working on an important video for SJ Music that drops in less than 45 minutes (hint: it's not a Eurovision video)

My brother had a german girlfriend many years ago (here in the UK), she loved Fawlty Towers and this was her favourite episode.

They were all written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, Cleese’s then wife, the American who plays Polly. They were breaking up while they wrote these but remained professional for the work (like the Fleetwood Mac story).

You could have just put it off, no need rush things people can wait so its enjoyed by viewers and yourselves properly. Id have just ripped the Dailymotion video for you and uploaded it elsewhere for ad free viewing , though I've never had the background audio adverts pop up you mentioned on the link I gave last week

Since old shows are normally only round 480p, an half hour video is barely 150mb, so barely take up space to download. There's lots of copy and paste a link online downloaders

Throw everything at it, leave nothing untouched and go out before it becomes a chore and tiring to write. How could you write another dozen of these episodes without it losing the madness/energy? They’d still be watchable just not the same level

2023-02-15 14:32:11 +0000 UTCJohn Cleese’s commentary for this episode is another gold one, because he talks about the sensitivity of language and prejudice the episode is about and he does make some good points. Between Series 1 and 2, there was a four year gap. John Cleese and Connie Booth’s marriage was already starting to break down during production and they had divorced in 1978. Also, Cleese was mostly working with the rest of the Pythons, promoting ‘Holy Grain’, some stage shows and then starting to write ‘Life of Brian’.
