-MOVIE OF THE WEEK: This week's movie reaction will be LIFE OF BRIAN since The Holy Grail was such a banger (And yes Virginia, Daniel will be back for this one). Poll for our next movie is coming Thursday FYI.
-BLACKADDER & FATHER TED: Both The Series Finale of Blackadder: Back And Forth (more on that later this week) and S2E1 of Father Ted are scheduled for their regular times this week.
-WORLD CUP COVERAGE UPDATE: While Daniel will be continuing World Cup Watchalongs on Arias And The Nation this week, unfortunately neither one of us will be covering the Final Matches this weekend as we're both going out of town, Daniel will be headed to Atlantic City, New Jersey for his wife's Birthday celebration, and I (Spencer) will be headed with my wife to Ocean City, Maryland for a pair of concerts from local Maryland bands. We assume most of you don't care because England, Wales, and USA aren't in it, but I put it out there anyway.
-SPENCER'S EUROVISION PROJECT: As announced on our last Fireside Chat, I (Spencer), having been inspired by Daniel's FIFA World Cup 2022 Deep Dive, will be embarking on a Eurovision Song Content 2023 Deep Dive starting in January 2023 on the Spencer Joyce Music channel. My plan is to do a deep dive on the history of the contest, review the artists representing each country and the songs they will be performing, and likely doing watch alongs of the actual contests depending on availability in the USA (the Eurovision Semi-Finals and Finals have been streamed in the USA on Peacock since 2019). In fact some have suggested I go to the actual Eurovision Semi-Finals & Finals in Liverpool, which will depend on money and timing for me. (FYI it's a goal of mine for 2023 to visit the UK & Ireland in Q2 or Q3 of 2023). Also I know I've been slacking on the Cursed Mashups on the SJ Music channel, I've been occupied with ETS21 Reactions and putting together the year end compilation. I hope to get back to it soon, but no promises.

You should add "24 Hour Party People" to your movie poll. It is a great movie (very British though) about the early days of the "Madchester" music scene. It follows the late, great Tony Wilson (played by Steve Coogan) and the 'legends' that surround Factory Records and the infamous Hacienda nightclub in Manchester through the 1980s and early 1990s. I say "legends" because people misinterpret the film to be a factually accurate docudrama which it is not and does not claim to be. Rather it is told from the mind of Wilson as he recalls the events, usually embellishing them for greater effect as Wilson was known to do. That said, plenty of it is true and it very nicely portrays the general mood and energy that was going on in the Manchester (and the UK more widely) music scene in that era, focusing on the rise of the Happy Mondays and the ultimate fall of Factory. That scene, however, was the precursor to Oasis, who rose out of Madchester to become one of the biggest, most successful bands of all time. It is a film I think you guys may enjoy.

2022-12-14 13:02:32 +0000 UTCFootball fans don't stop caring after their teams are knocked out, if that was the case us Brits wouldn't watch any major championships!🤣 Interest level remains equally high right to the end, the World cup final is the most exciting game in football, I can't wait, hope you both have a blast with your celebrations!
