** I re-read your post after typing the following and realized we were saying the same thing. Still it would be a shame to let all that typing go to waste **
I would disagree with saying he's not 'in love' with her. he's not just a kingsguard but HER kingsguard and the spend a lot of time together. Case in point their camping trip during the Hunt. He believes he loves her while she sees him more in the friends with benefits category. She rejected him and he took it badly.

Wouldn't go that far with Criston (incel lmaoo) but yeah, his ask was unreasonable. She is a princess, bro. She ain't gonna give up an entire kingdom for your ass.
He is smitten and I don't blame him. Tends to happen when you manage to bag someone who is way out of your league 😂. He is barely a step above a low born and she is a... princess. A wiser man would have been grateful for the opportunity (his feelings aside, his closeness to the future Queen, even unofficially, could do *wonders* for his little house).
One thing I have not seen anyone discuss is that Joffrey likely groped ser Criston. Either he grabbed his ass or hit him on the ass before he left him. It's subtle but it's there. And it must have contributed to Criston's breakdown. It is one thing to internally lose your honor (and live with the specter of a gruesome death) and have to stand by while your lover is getting married.
To have a "pervert" further dishonor you by blackmailing into being his bitch is too much. There is only so many a westerosi man of honor can take.

Ser cristion is getting too much sympathy in my opinion. Hes giving major incel energy!!! Firstly, its his oath, not rhaenyras. He didnt ask her to marry him because he loved her, he did it because he regretted his actions. Its okay for rhae to be under him as a disinherited princess wife, but he can't be under her as her paramour? That man didnt like that he had to live with his decision and unfortunately him and alicent can now collude to make sure her power is standing for her sons. Otto's departing words are definitely taking root and growing in alicents mind

The wedding was not supposed to be that night. It was just the welcome feast. But they shotgunned it because of what happened.
It's obvious to me that Rhaenyra has had a thing for Daemon forever, long before their first scene in the throne room. When everyone talks about chemistry between them when he puts the necklace on, we can only really see *her* face/neck/body language. It's the way she essentially gives herself to him in that scene that prompts the "chemistry" talk.
With the exception of their confrontation at Dragonstone, Rhaenyra positively *glows* whenever she interacts with Daemon - or even just sees him. In a line in episode 3 that few seem to have caught when they were talking in the garden, she essentially tells him that his wife is lucky.
So yeah, while I think Rhaenyra was only half serious during the dance when she talk Daemon to "steal" her away, I firmly believe that she would have been more than ok marrying him.
Other notes: Alicent remains my favorite character and that badass entrance will stay with me for a long time. Love the exchange between her and her folks. I like the Hightowers and will miss Otto. He had such a powerful presence.
Terrific reaction as always.

Daemon is the only one who didn't stand up when Alicent arrived 😅

It was Rhaenys and her dragon Meleys...one of the swiftest dragons which they kind of show when it zoomed on screen for a moment...I wish they would show more time with the dragons and their riders so people who havent read the books would know. Trust me...when you finally see Laena's dragon, it will be a big deal.

Rhaenyra asked Daemon to take her to Dragonstone, the ancestral seat of House Targaryen and get married. In that way she will still be heir, married to another strong Targaryen. She will still be doing her duty to the Realm. But Criston only proposed to her because he feels guilty of breaking his oath. Not because he has an undying love for her. I don't know why he even expected her to come with him. She is the heir to the Throne and the weight of the Targaryen dynasty is on her shoulders. Did he think that she would consider his guilt bigger than her responsibility to the Targaryen dynasty? The mistake was she sleeping with him. They were together for a long time and she should have known this guy is too sensitive and honourable. And still she slept with him. She messed up there. And then he messed up a lot. And now it's all a big mess.

The two dragons we saw flying could be of Laenor and Laena or it could be Laenor and Rhaenys. Rhaenys is a Targaryen too. She will have a dragon as well.

Larys Strong we saw in ep 3. He came and sat amongst the women saying that he cant join the hunt because of his disability. Also Lyonel Strong (Hand of the King) and his father, in the same episode while suggesting Laenor as match for Rhaenyra to Viserys, Viserys assumed that Lyonel was going to suggest his son Harwin Strong aka Harwin breakbones who is the strongest knight in the 7 kingdoms. We saw Harwin again last episode when he caught Rhaenyra running through the streets. Harwin was the guy who smiled at Rhaenyra in ep 3 when she returned to the camp all bloodied with the boar she killed. We saw Harwin again this episode sitting next to Larys, his brother while Alicent arrived. Harwin was the guy who was dancing with Rhaenyra when Daemon interrupted them. And Harwin was the guy who fought through the crowd and carried Rhaenyra to safety on his father's orders.

Alicent listened to her dad and went to console and seduce Rhaenyra’s father right after her mother’s death and kept at it for months and got married to him and told none of this to Rhaenyra, lying to her the whole time, so I have no sympathy for her and her upcoming scheming. She now plays the victim when she discovered that Rhaenyra concealed information from her to protect herself and people involved and equates that to some big betrayal like a true drama queen, especially since it was not her business in the first place. Otto got replaced not because of Rhaenyra, but because he is a power hungry schemer that thinks he is far more clever than he truly is (kind of like what Tywin thought of Cersei) and got caught. Otto is once again instigating in this episode. I doubt Rhaenyra would kill her children at least if she and her father and Jason Lannister were not such assholes and support those claims in the future. However, he is not entirely wrong since no one can be certain what someone like Daemon might be capable of doing on her behalf, though he also loves his brother so that would not be something he would do lightly.

Criston Cole loves Rhaenyra, but I think she never loved him. It seems that she was attracted to him but mainly used him as a rebound once Daemon left her “to go to his whores”. Rhaenyra loves Daemon and both of them are impulsive and rash, hence her goading Daemon to take her away. I also think that Rhaenyra does not view choosing Daemon as the same as giving up the throne. Her father would be pissed, but Daemon is not just some nobody like Criston Cole to run away with, he is a prince and a dragonrider so she probably thinks she could still be Queen. Daemon killing his wife also seemed more like a happy accident that he then took advantage of by completing what the horse did. Yes he came with somewhat dubious intentions to talk to his wife but it did not seem to be that premeditated.
