Hey, folks!
The unfortunate events mentioned in the previous update and some new ones keep affecting the schedule, but we should have Alpha ready within the next week.
New unfortunate events included picking another restaurant location because of some issues with the old one and discovering exciting new issues with the new one! We’re still remapping some of the more prominent items because SOMEONE decided that having actual materials with multiple maps (albedo, normal, specgloss etc) is for pussies and just baked individual 4K albedos for each item in the scene. We tried loading it into our editor and it didn’t go well.
It’s not all bad, though, we now have all the necessary assets remapped and ready for prime time, and the location looks pretty good. Dinner date time!
And apart from new events for Rae, one new animated scene for Lyriel is now done
It’s going to be branched from the existing kitchen BJ scene, and the BJ scene itself will get a little makeover soon-ish. The lighting is kinda horrible there, so we’ll recapture the animations and statics with a better setup. At least one more animated scene will make it into this cycle, just maybe not into Alpha.
Now I have to go back to finishing scripts for all the new events, so here’s this week’s Wed Nips:
