You can use the patch to upgrade any version beginning with 0.5.4a1 to version 0.5.5r1 , just make sure to get the right flavour (hi-res/compressed).
To use the patch, place the .exe file into the game’s root folder and launch it.

Hey, Zanith! I just loved the animations on this update! You already had some nice animations in the game, but the Lyriel ones were just next level. I loved how well they fit the dialog and I was blown away by how you handled kissing. Congratulations!
