0.5 Development Update 5

The next Alpha is a day or two away, Yona’s redesign and additional v0.5.0 content ate up a solid chunk of this month. Still have a fair bit of stuff to do, but working non-stop and getting closer to the end.

I'm not even talking about enabling the travel and stuff at night, just the ability to go to sleep with someone in the evening. There are quite a few day start triggers that will need attention, and I'll have to plan ahead for the possible mechanics conflicts. RenPy architecture severely limits the ability to refactor/change older stuff without breaking the saves, and by this time, there's a lot of older stuff, including some stuff that wasn't thought through enough.

I'm not a huge fan of Yona (okay, the idea of her and Naomi sparring might be changing my mind, that looks hilarious and heartwarming), mainly because it's not my preference, and Naomi was kinda already the big-woman-on-campus. But not everything will be to everyone's liking. I only found the game recently, but am excited by where it's going. Not the biggest fan of the newest content, but it's good work and keep it up. I hope I can offer some encouragement from someone who isn't a fan of the new character, but appreciates it despite that. I've been quite invested in the characters so far, so I expect Yona's characterization will shine as well. Also Cait standing up for herself! Whooooo!
