We share pretty much the same sentiments on this album. This is by far her weakest and most unoriginal album. Very very disappointing coming from an artist like Doja who has proven to be innovative and unafraid to take risks. This just feels like the safe option and it's not even benefitting her because every release this year flopped on arrival. The music is only connecting with a small group of people, but I think people will still pay to see her on tour. I'd see the show despite everything, hell I still wanted to see Beyonce after I ended up hating Cowboy Carter! I really hope that when we get to the next album cycle, she has a much clearer vision, better songs, and more creative ideas. The only songs I listen to from the album are Gorgeous (but I'mma have to start calling her Doja West), AAAHH MEN!, Stranger, and Make It Up. Some other songs are okay, the rest I just don't care for. And thanks for the shout out as always! RCA Records will pay for their crimes one day!

Ok I am so glad you brought up the issues with how these songs were mastered. I thought I was being overly critical but to me it sounds like doja’s singing vocals are drowning amongst the very dynamic (and at times overly complex) production. I was going to let it slide, but her rapping is louder than any of the singing she does on the album. Even if an artist lacks vocal strength and prowess, there are ways to ensure their vocals can be heard by listeners. Additionally, if the vibe was supposed to be 80s pop specifically, I think they should’ve simplified the amount of digital noises and instruments in their arrangement as the music of that time was limited to the recording techniques and technology of the time. Like you said, the music sounds unfinished or like there was very little editing. Also, I’m sorry jack antonoff produced the majority of this album and I really do not enjoy the majority of his work especially in the pop genre. Maybe if they at least collaborated with someone who actually made music during the 80s or at least was an adult, we would’ve gotten a better album.
