Metro: Erebus - Part 1

In search for her love, Anna must delve into the dead city of Novosibirsk to find Artyom, no matter what horrors she encounters along her journey…

Right, let's get the bad out of the way first. Only really had one issue with this set and it was getting more and more frustrating by the end. That was, as always, the annoying SFM rigs. Honestly if I had a bane of my existence doing this stuff, it is those rigs. They’re just so annoying. Some are less tedious and frustrating than others. Sadly the Nosaslis one falls into the latter. 

I was able to fight it during like 90 per cent of the set. It was just the last few days right at the end it was getting too much. I wanted to do some more DP stuff to end the set off, but I could not for the life of me get them to bend into good poses. 

Thankfully though a fellow member here has made and published some models of Metro monsters with much better rigs. So future installments with these ugly boys will be much, much better. 

But now on to the good. Other than that one issue, love this set man. The story, the lighting and poses (bar the end) were all top notch and something I’m super-duper proud of how it all came out. Spent a lot of time getting the look and mood of the set to be just right and I’m thrilled with how I was able to capture that fine balance of light and dark. Really helped sell the horror vibes of the set. 

Since it has been literal years since I last did anything in the Metro series, I wanted to really nail this project, to give it my all. And thankfully, I can say that I did. The story section was a tad longer than I planned, but in the end it helped create a sense of foreboding atmosphere which fits the Metro games oh so well.
