NTR vs NTS
Added 2025-02-18 09:33:20 +0000 UTCEdit: Roughly even, leaning slightly more towards NTR~ Can't promise I'll be able to keep the routes in sync (i.e. there might be a few weeks where I'm veeery NTR-focused and the NTR route is a few days ahead for a while) but I have what I think are good ideas for both routes.
Just out of interest, what's the split between NTR vs NTS lovers here? For those unaware, NTS is like NTR - but the main character knows about and agrees to the cheating rather than things happening behind his back.
I want to do 2 separate routes, but depending on the split of people, wondering if I should do them simultaneously or focus on 1 and then go back and do the other at a later date?
I used to be in the NTS camp but with this story... I think I converted myself to NTR lol

2025-02-23 10:49:52 +0000 UTCYeah - a lot of my favourite doujins are pure NTS but for a long, linear game focused on the story it just... feels a bit too plain? In my next game which'll probably be similar to NekoNTR - maybe even a spin-off - I want to do extensive branching routes and one of those will of course just be plain NTS :D

Own imagination is hell of a drug, you know. NTS can be good, but it always was kinda... Lame for me? Like, willingly sharing your girlfriend and making it "happy" is like even more silly, than NTR MC's themself. I can't imagine it happening at all without involving MC in fun on the same condition as "bull" with all hentai logic. But NTS turning into NTR? Now that's dope. Especially if gf's changes through corruption are made right and not obvious and quick.

2025-02-20 22:52:51 +0000 UTCthat would be cool too! sync ups would keep the story still pretty linear while keeping the option of separate routes available. i dunno tho. based on the game so far, it seems more like you wanna tell a story rather than have a bunch of branching routes with a lot of different endings (bc theres not like...choices yet that would let you branch into different routes yet). which i mean, i dont mind :P visual novels are amazing and i think this is a fairly well done visual novel style. i voted personally for ntr but i think both routes would be fantastic xP

2025-02-18 18:15:44 +0000 UTCThere are several splits that could be used. - NTS: MC/BF confronts Vanilla, they are both aware and just go with it. - NTR(ish): ari has a good suggestion. The MC/BF is already "suspicious" and noticing similarities between Katrina and Vanilla. I don't think it practical that he'd continue to be oblivious. I think it's a good idea to allow the MC/BF to start interacting with Katrina, but it's only the BF/MC (at first) who knows Katrina is Vanilla, and lets her continue "cheating", with her thinking her BF doesn't know. I think it'd be good to eventually have Vanilla realize her "new" admirer is her BF, and then start playing with him as Vanilla "irl". You also have Elise (the "friend"), who can get involved with the MC/BFs "fantasy" and give him the info. So many ways you could continue forward with this one. Pick the routes you like, but keep it relatively simple. No need to overcomplicate. For the record, NTS is my preference. However, I really, really like the NTR(ish) angle of this one. The MC/BF lets the GF "play", even though she's not fully aware of the BF knowing. He's letting her "cheat". I know there are a lot of debates about what's NTR vs NTS, and there's a little overlap at times... And I certainly don't want to debate it or start a debate...lol I'm fine if people disagree with me or even if I'm wrong. This is just my interpretation of the differences... For me, the key difference is the couple itself. If the GF/BF have a solid, loving relationship, she's not going to leave him (even if she's really "cheating"), she's supportive of his "kink", whether he's aware she knows about it or not, then that's NTS. The key thing for NTS, the couple isn't in "danger" of breaking up. NTS can be NTR(ish) with the added elements of "humiliation" or teasing by the GF that she prefers others. But the key thing to keep it NTS, is the GF still actually loves the BF, isn't too "cruel", and reassures she loves him, she's just having, enjoying sex with others. Basically, the BF is "secure" in the relationship. NTR is obviously cheating, but what makes it NTR (even in NTS settings) is the GF is being "stolen" away. She's "emotionally" cheating on the BF... It's not just sex with the other dudes. She's thinking about dumping the BF. Any way, that's my thoughts. Like what you've done with this one so far. Stick to your vision for the story. Look forward to seeing where this goes. NTR generally isn't my preference (I don't like cheating), but you sucked me in on this one (Vanilla still loves the BF, she just wants $ and big D...lol) and curious to see how it plays out... The systems you've set up are more complex than most and open up good opportunities. The OF app alone, with comments and DMs is spectacular!

2025-02-18 15:14:05 +0000 UTCi think a route split is perfect but i really like how the story is going thus far so maybe focus on one route and then go back and focus on the other? :D plus, then youll already have a foundation for the story. also, for the mc being able to talk to katrina, if katrina knows its her bf, could be interesting if mc exposed his dreams to this so called stranger :P maybe when she realizes he likes it, she starts taking advantage of it more and becoming more bold, maybe even teasing him sometimes without him knowing she knows. just random thoughts. love the game and im sure itll be phenomenal with any direction you take! :)

I've pushed for more NTS because I feel like it's been far less explored in the market than NTR, I don't think there is much 'new' to be done with NTR that other games haven't covered. Buuut, I think this poll also demonstrates why that is, NTR is simply more popular. A couple thoughts, I think NTS fits OG Vanilla's personality better, I don't feel like she would lie to her MC no matter what her new friends think. I'll also say again that I hope the route split happens before, ideally any action but, at the least full PIV sex. In my mind the it would have been good to split it at the choice to tell Vanilla about the dreams or not, the MC is clearly into the idea so why hold back? But hey it's not my story, you do you, I think I'm going to enjoy this game no matter where it ends up!

After some further corruption from her friends, the MC finds out about infidelity and confronting Vanilla she gaslights him. For being too small and "You want me to be happy, right?" Either way it would be interesting if she could convinced him into chastity.

I think NTS puritans (0 actual cheating whatsoever) won't like it which is fair but I don't think NTR vs NTS should be as black and white as that. NTR can become NTS, and vice-versa depending on the characters, the situation, etc.

It's a significant breach of trust already, after all. .... Depending on how far she goes on day 21, I'd consider placing the route split before it. Have her confess to the events on the beach, recognizing them as a mistake, and go from there. Forgiveness, free pass and NTS vs anger and NTR. But I don't know if vanilla is ready to confess there.... And I'd prefer if you didn't rewrite too much (or much at all), because that's how plans die, and therefore projects die, and that's the worst of all worlds
