Greed God chapter 160

April 3rd 2016 Gotham City 12:00 PM EDT

It  took a bit of convincing to get everyone to actually leave. They  weren't fans of abandoning me to my fate, especially not Zee and Barbie.  Zee seemed slightly uncomfortable, and I suspected we were finally  going to talk about the elephant in the room, namely the brand on her  ass. She'd avoided bringing it up in Gemworld because it was an  emergency situation, but she knew it was there, and now that we were  back it was going to be a discussion.

How that would go I  wasn't sure. She wasn't going to be thrilled, but access to a new form  of magical transmutation might be attractive enough to divert her  unhappiness. That girl was straight up obsessed with sorcery. For now  though Gotham was still in trouble, and Doctor Fate had been called, so  she knew we had time constraints. Barbie wanted to find her dad, so I  managed to convince them all to go home and wait for me as I took care  of my part of the plan.

They didn't know what it involved.  In fact, no one did. No one was even aware of exactly what my power  could do. This would change things. Immensely. I was about to announce  to the world what I was capable of in a way no one else would see  coming. Before I could do that though, I had to actually get there, and  that...presented a problem. Mostly because this whole fucking city had  turned into some kind of weird fairy kingdom, and most of the buildings  had been transformed into giant living tree structures and shit.

Not  that I was worried about handling anything I met, but if I made too big  of a mess Doctor Gotham would probably spot me, and I could NOT handle  that asshole before the plan was ready. So I needed to lie low. Or in  this case, high. I decided to fly to the riverfront, and I used my storm  magic to cloak myself in a shimmering bubble of disrupted air. It  wasn't invisibility exactly, it would be obvious to anyone looking, but  the skies seemed clear so I doubted I would run across anyone paying  that much attention.

I shifted into my hybrid form. Not  full bipedal dragonkin, but just my wings, horns and arms converted.  This form wasn't as heavy, so it could fly faster, even if it wasn't  nearly as sturdy as my full dragonkin shift. I let the Vital Tempest  leak out, rolling over me in a crackle of green lightning as I used it  to reach out to the air. It was...harder here. Gotham might be crawling  with fairy magic, but this place still wasn't as mystically dense as  Gemworld. My power found less resonance in the winds of a world not  accustomed to the might of dragons.

It was still more than  enough, however, to cloak me in wind. The bubble of air shimmered  around me. Or rather, the bubble of air held tiny droplets of water that  reflected the light. It was a difficult bit of magic to keep up,  requiring lots of concentration to control the distribution of the  droplets, but it was still doable for me with my supernatural brain. I  wouldn't be doing any attacking while I flew though, sadly. I lifted off  the ground, pumping my wings a few times as I took off for the river.

It  was a MUCH slower flight while micromanaging this magic, more of a  glide than anything, but I didn't mind. It gave me time to get a look at  the new Gotham, to see exactly what I'd missed while I was gone. The  city had changed considerably. Firstly, as mentioned, the whole place  had been overgrown with plants and nature. Animals rampaged along the  streets, some alone, some ridden by what were apparently types of fae  that Doctor Gotham had summoned.

Along with those I could  see other, more normal people, though most of them were the kind that  wouldn't have been quite so numerous before the big guy enacted his  ritual. Mob goons, villain minions, and just general tough guys were  rampant in the streets, all decked out like they were heading to a  medieval duel. Plate mail, chain mail, scale male, leather armor, and a  few materials I didn't even recognize were everywhere, as were a variety  of medieval weapons like swords, spears, maces and flails.

This  place was almost as fantasy chic as Gemworld. But it was easy to spot  signs of modernity too. Not all the warriors were on animals, some were  on motorcycles, and among the various weapons I could see guns and  grenades strapped to a  number of people, human and fae alike. Trench  coats were a common sight over armor, the only things that made it  obvious who was trying to assert their independence.

I  glided over the streets, trying my best to spot anyone I knew. I finally  noticed one particular face I recognized and flew down to check it out  just to see what the commotion was. There was a loud buzz and a shock of  light off to one side of the street, and being partly a dragon of storm  I felt like I should find out what that was about. I swooped down and  landed on a building above the spot where the noise and what I could now  see was electricity had come from.

A pair of male fae  were glaring down at a girl. she was wearing a collar, a pair of blue  pasties, and thin blue g string being eaten by an ample ass. She was a  tiny thing, an obvious teen, maybe my age maybe younger, though it was  hard to tell. Her booty was thick for her height, and she had cute  little apple titties and a smooth stomach. The most attention grabbing  thing about her though, was that she was blue. As in, like blueberry  blue. Her skin crackled with electricity and she was snarling at the fae  with an expression of hate as they dragged her down the road.

Everyone  else was avoiding them, and the fae were wearing gloves, but the chain  seemed to be magic, clearly containing the lightning to her body and  grounding it from reaching them. They were dragging her along too fast  for her legs to keep up, and she kept slipping nad falling to the  ground, scraping her knees and palms as she struggled to keep up with  her taller captives. Her blue hair was long at the top and hanging down  one side of her head, cut short on the opposite side.

She was cute, and the lightning was interesting so I appraised her.

[Appraisal  function activated. Leslie Willis- G ranked metahuman. An orphan  experimented on by The Reach, Leslie, also known as Livewire, escaped  from her captors. Upon hearing about the new Gotham, where the strong  were lauded as kings, she made her way to the city, only to be captured  by lustful fae. Despite her beauty, the fae have been having trouble  selling her because of her obvious power, and have taken to dragging the  electrokinetic through the streets nearly naked as an advertisement of  their goods.]

I whistled at that. Damn. Imagine  running away to Gotham to escape alien slavers and getting snatched up  by fairy sex traders. That was like...stupid levels of bad luck. For  her. I considered trying to just buy her, but I decided it would make a  bigger impression if I rescued her and killed her captors. Granted if I  was too obvious I would draw attention, but some random fae dying  wouldn't be noteworthy. Plus I could use some eye candy that I didn't  care about losing for my trip. Plus I didn't have a lightning bitch yet.  I was betting we could have some fun.

I dropped off the  opposite side of the building, slowing my fall with wind magic on the  way down while keeping up my cloaking spell. When I reached the ground I  shifted back to human and walked around the other side of the building  to stand in an alley the sex traders were about to pass. As they did I  let out a low hiss to get their attention. They saw me and I looked  around shadily, gesturing them into the alley.

I was tall,  but also obviously young and I seemed like I was normal when my mantle.  They looked at each other, then noted my fine noble clothes and  shrugged, clearly interested. They dragged Leslie down the side alley,  ignoring her snarls of rage and threats as the glass and small rocks  drew blood from her hands and knees and feet. I winced a bit at that  internally but avoided letting myself show an expression. Once they drew  close, I considered all sorts of possible methods of dealing with them,  negotiation, bribery, but eventually I just said fuck it and killed  them.

I blurred forward so fast they couldn't track me,  the two of them were G rank like Leslie, and as my claws tore out their  throats they didn't even have time to react. Leslie stared at the  bodies, then at me. I yanked her up to her feet by the chain and her  eyes widened in fear as I reached out to grip the collar, and squeezed  it into scrap metal, letting the broken pieces fall to the ground with a  clatter. She looked down at herself, then up at me, and blushed a deep  blue as she averted her gaze when she noticed her state of dress.

She  licked her lips. "Th-thanks. I guess. If you're letting me go." She  looked around uneasily. "Are you letting me go? Because with my luck,  getting rescued by someone who is just going to fuck and murder me seems  like it would be pretty on brand." Her eyes flashed with lightning.  "I'm warning you asshole, savior or not, if you try to put your hands on  me I'm going to turn you into charcoal."

She  was...adorable. Not like Emerald was adorable, but like some angry  little kitten. I drank in her cute little body, maybe a bit too thin  from not eating right, except around the thighs and ass. Then I turned  and walked away. I was relatively close to the river, I could walk there  from here. She made an indignant squeak. "Hey! What are you-? Where are  you going? I was talking to you!"

Much like I'd expected,  she waffled for a minute, looked around, and then followed me. She  didn't know anyone here, didn't have any friends or family, and the rest  of the city was crawling with predatory assholes. A nearly naked teen  girl with blue skin and hair wouldn't make it twenty feet without some  protection. Even if she defended herself she would just draw in more  notice until someone strong scooped her up and she'd be back where she  started.

She trailed after me. I expected her to complain,  but she didn't she hurried to catch up and sidled up next to me. Not  touching but sort of in my shadow, and then looked at the ground sulkily  as she followed along. It was so precious. She was acting like I was  her hero or something. I'd considered having her blow me as a thank you  or something, but this was just so cute I decided to leave it be. I  wanted to see what she did after this next part anyway.

Ignoring  my bootylicious blue tagalong, I finally came to the river. I looked  across the long bridge to Metropolis. There were dozens of blockades and  defensive perimeters keeping the two sides separate. I imagine the  magic leaching effect was the biggest defense though. Doctor Gotham was  fueled by his kingdom, and he wouldn't want any of that Metropolis  poison sucking his power away. I glanced over at Metropolis, checking to  confirm something I had already known. D rank. Same as Gotham. Perfect.

I  cracked my neck as I looked from one city to the other, checking the  clouds for signs of golden light. Doctor Fate would be handling Doctor  Gotham, I wasn't anywhere near strong enough, but he couldn't do it  until I severed the bad Doctor's link with his kingdom. I saw a faint  flash of gold off in the distance, and Ankh. That was all I needed to  see. I turned so my body was situated with one city on each side, and I  executed the plan that I'd been cooking up for months. I triggered my  power, and I paid ten million GP to merge Gotham city with Metropolis.  Then the sky filled with light, and the world went INSANE.
