New diorama in the works!

My friends, the Land Rover scene has started taking shape. I played around with the composition and made the base much bigger compared to the initial layout. Sometimes it's good to take a break, go for a ride, and come back with a refreshed mind.

I also managed to squeeze in both buildings. So much so that their sides will be displayed in their full glory as well - almost no veneered sides! Right now I'm focusing on the small shed built from corrugated metal, the large garage wall will come later. As you probably observed, everything is made from styrofoam, but the large garage facade is a piece of 1cm thick foam board.

Also, there will be a figure.. if everything goes well. And I'll be facing every modeler's greatest fear - a woman! :D But seriously, I'm very intimidated. I know that female figures should be the same when it comes to painting techniques... but maybe I've seen too many of them painted poorly... and you know how it goes. When you have a German tanker with a horribly painted face, you sort of shrug and move on. But a miniature woman with a poorly painted face brings a whole new level of suffering. So yeah, it'll be interesting!

The figure in the first photo reminds me of something funny. In the ancient days pre written history, one culture made these small god idols showing a woman with no head, arms around to her back so no hands were showing, and gargantuan breasts and huge belly. It is thought to be an idol to child birth. Then in the 80s a group of American lesbians (where else?!!) came up with their own idol of sorts, an idol to themselves. It had a huge head flag chest and belly and huge hands. It was an idol to their own creativity. So there you go!

If you are talking about fine detail work, it's a 000 brush. I don't know what brand.

Awesome job Martin. Can’t wait to see everything after it’s all done!!

Hi Martin. Hope you don't mind me asking on here, because it doesn't refer to this post. I've been watching some of your recent, past videos on YouTube. Which type and size brushes do you use for detail work please. I'm referring to the section of the US Army Chevrolet build video. Thank you in advance.

ruffle up her hair and smear her lipstick, she'll look like a typical Yorkshire lass after you know what.
