S04E03 - Home Shopping with Ace and Chet

Hey ya Dudes and Dudettes!

For your consideration: The third installment in the Super Nintendo plot arc! PLEASE leave your comments because these are still a long way from seeing a public release and All I have is poor Becky to give me feedback (over and over and over again)!

Production notes: This episode is much closer to a final form than the previous early looks I have given you guys. Color grading is almost exactly where I want it, and the sound mix is getting there too. I will be going back and polishing the 1st and 2nd episodes as I move on to the 4th this coming month.

Patreon Tier notes: This episode has a TON of bloopers and behind the scenes footage so I plan to release those a little at a time over the course of March as well. The 4K version are looking incredible and I will get that out to you $10 supporters along with more 360!

Thanks again for your continued support and patience buddies. AVG is now my top priority and I want to make the release of new content more consistent this year. The aim is to start releasing episodes to the public in 2020!

Stay AWESOME!

I loved this one.

Chet's cut off polo sleeves is such a great subtle touch. Such a great episode! Sweet sweet Poncho....

Can I ask what you are viewing the episode on?

I know it’s boring to hear the same thing over and over again, but I still feel like the color needs to be toned down just a little. It’s all so saturated, which makes their skin look weird. Maybe it’s just a stylistic choice, but in my opinion it almost looks like a dream sequence. I mean, it’s much more saturated than what it must have looked like in real life when you guys were shooting this. I loved the colors in the better half of the old episodes, that looked more real in my opinion. Anyway, this will be the last time I point this out, because I don’t want to be annoying. Like I said, if it’s just a stylistic choice then that’s ok. I’m just trying to help 😊 Have a great day! I look forwared to seeing the completed episodes 👍🏼

Heh, that is the first joke I ever learned and told regularly when I was a kid.

Comments are also welcome of course! Glad you liked it!

Noted. i will listen to it back on more speakers. It is hard to take dialogue clearity into account when you know the lines by heart!

This is perhaps not useful feedback for the "tweaks to make" list, but it is probably ok for morale. This one is hilarious. Keep up the great work.

I just googled the 'Watson you Dummy...!' joke. It's pretty good! OMG Ace's 'soft voice' and delivery when he 'Home Shopping Network'-sells the SNES... you really have created your own brand of clever humor. Kudos, Fellers! OMG... he kisses the ma-fucker...!

Does anyone else think it's a bit difficult to understand what they're saying in the Frashback segment? I'm calling them "Frashbacks" now, by the way. Racism not intended. Hilarious episode.

Of course it should go without say that the title sequence is still a placeholder! Gotta make a fresh new beautiful one for this season!

Yeah the transition is in my notes. I want it to be consistent across all episodes and I am still trying out some ideas.

I'm really hoping this leads to a "Dad's Dad" arc, its seeming that way. I'd say the only tweaks I'd do is provide a transition from current day to past, maybe fading dad to black and white before making the transition to the past, to establish he's about to have another flashback. Otherwise Ace and Chet acting is still hilarious, the laugh fit gag is still extremely funny, and I have half a mind to ask you to edit an "Awesome video games" theme to just them spitting out drinks.

Actually I should have put that in the production notes. I am working on graphics to put into this episode. I've been studying old home shopping clips to get the look right. Also... I have to make them funny.

During the home shopping segment, could use some typical HSN price and details card overlay, something that might have a call 555-number to call and order, maybe even some bullet points calling out the features of the product. Darkest episode ever, poor Poncho.
