Eastmodels Challenge, part 2: the trip

And here are a few extra photos showing the scenery and the places we visited! The drive there took 4 hours, the drive back home was over 5 hours due to traffic jams, I was completely exhausted, but it was such a memorable trip!

Funny thing, the first photo showing the path downward to the dirt road through the evergreen trees and the lake and mountains beyond reminds me of scenes from the Andy Griffith show. Only that lake was not very wide nor the mountains so pretty. It was a show that started about 1960 and had a whole town full of characters, a comedy that only turned serious when the little boy had to be punished and disciplined. Great show, almost everyone loved it and still do. Watching the series over and over and learning the words doesn't mess it up one bit. It is set in a fictitious small town of Mayberry, North Carolina, and the main character is a folk singing, widower laid back county sheriff and his little boy and his aunt who is the housekeeper. The funniest parts center around his super inept deputy, Barnie Fife. If you can, see if you can find it somewhere and at least watch the first season. The little boy, Opie, had a best friend named Johnny Paul Jason who was played by Keith Tibbedeaux who later married a girl I know who was a fantastic ballerina and my daughter Julia started taking Ballet at their ballet school, so I have met Keith many times and consider him to be a friend, and he and Kathy live just about 15 minutes from my house.

Reminds me of Canada, minus the tiger. It's good to get out. Right?

Night Shift

It was electrified :D And the bears already knew to stay away from it.

Night Shift

It was electrified :D

This is all actually a protected area, so the biking is very limited there, although there are some sanctioned trails.

Night Shift

Just stay within the Liptov region! The rest is... not so pretty... :D

Truly beautiful! I love the scenery and the animals were cute!

Quintin Paparella

Looks like you could do some great MTBing around there. I am a bit jealous as it's so flat here.

Stunning pictures… but I agree with Joxar about the bear!! 😳

Kevin SKB118

Beautiful, although I wouldn't trust that fence to keep a bear away from me 😬
