My friends, here's the vignette in its raw state. Laminating the sides wasn't a pleasant job at all! But as always, it's a very important part of the scene.
Another tricky part was the "roof" or the collapsed upper floor. I was, again, trying to avoid making a shadow box vignette, and this layout seemed like a sweet spot for me. The floor is actually made from styrofoam, just as the rest of the base. Cork would've made my life easier when it comes to painting as I could use enamels, but I already knew that most of the painting and weathering will have to be carried out with acrylics.
I also added some remnants of the other side of the hallway in the forefront. The right corner would've otherwise looked a bit bland, but again, it would be a complete nonsense to block the view with another wall.
Debris was made from VMS Smart Mud paste, Real Earth from My Garden (TM), Real Rubble from Old Walls (TM), plaster bricks of unknown origin, and some twisted wire for rebars, a brass H profile, and a length of lead wire acting as a torn cable. The door frame is built from Evergreen styrene.
Well, considering it's my first small vignette with a single figure, and I didn't choose the easiest setting or composition, I'm pretty satisfied with the result so far! Now I'm gonna hit it with dark primer for those oh-so-wanted fake shadows everywhere, and start painting away!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
