Pin washing has begun

My friends, the most satisfying and time-consuming technique on this model is in full force! I can't think of any additional poetry to say here, so let's get down to business.

I chose a dark wash for green vehicles for this paint job, because it perfectly complements the warm tones. I have a bottle of wash for Pz. Grey, but I find it quite useless as it is very much a dark blue paint.

Pin washing the cradle took a lot of time because of all the details crammed into such a small area. I just hope the hull won't be as time-consuming, although it's much bigger than these two sub-assemblies!

Take a look at the loading tray and the tightly packed rivets on its sides. The pin wash can drastically darken the surface if there's a lot of detail. Part of it is an optical illusion because the dark wash draws our attention, and another part is the subtle residue left from blending. It's worth keeping this in mind when you're airbrushing a model, and if it has such an area, painting it in a lighter tone than the rest of the model will result in a more balanced finish.

Anyway, I'll report back again with the hull... hopefully soon! :D
