My friends, I'm back with a rusty base coat, and a finished bedroom! I wasn't able to paint during the last 3 days because I was working on some drywalls with my uncle/contractor.
But drywall aside, I sprayed the Conqueror with some basic rust tones. The base was, of course, Mr. Mahogany Primer. The darkest color was Hull Red from Tamiya and the subsequent layers were highlighted with Flat Yellow. I tried adding some color variation by spraying the sheet metal components in a different mixture - Flat Brown and Flat Yellow, for a slightly different finish.
It's easy to get carried away with the highlights because post shading is always fun, no matter the color, but the rusty coat needs to have enough contrast with the upcoming layers.
So what's coming up next? Two coats of chipping fluid, and a medium grey primer! It's visible in every reference photo, so I presume the British use a grey primer for their tanks. And once that is properly chipped, a faded military green on top of that!
