My friends, the snow is on, and I guess that concludes this project! On one hand I'm sad that I didn't have more to show you, but on the other, I'm glad the scene is finished because I was finally able to move everything to the new studio.
I tried a variety of new products in this scene. The last winter one, the tiny StuG, back then I only had Snow Sprinkles and Snow Microballoons from AK, so my options were rather limited.
The ice was made from Still Water and Ice Sparkles. I mixed them together and spread over a piece of glass. Once dry, I peeled it off, cut to shape, and superglued on the creek bank, slightly above the water level. This was done according to a reference photo I snapped in my village during the winter :D Gaps were blended with Snow Sprinkles.
Most of the snow was created with Snow Sprinkles. This gel dries to a semi-transparent finish, replicating dirty, partially melted and frozen snow perfectly. The thicker, more opaque build-up was made with Snow, which is more of a lightweight foam. I could've been more restrained with this one because I liked the frozen snow!
Snow Sprinkles were also used on the road, and the tracks. Enamel Earth from Ammo was applied as a filter to give it a dirty look - proper winter slush!
Oh, and of course, the water was treated with transparent Water Gel. Stippling on the surface, thick brushing on the sides for that smooth, clear finish :)
