Ready for stowage!

My friends, here's some progress from yesterday and today. Saturday was my friend's wedding so no progress there, so when I think about it, this is quite a lot of work for two days! :)

I started with pin washes - interior wash for the white parts, winter streaking grime for panzer grey. These created some awesome effects and subtle accumulations of dirt, which were followed up with mapping - adding random stains and "maps" with very diluted white. This method adds more texture and makes the winter camouflage look more brush painted, and it's a very old school technique!

Some chipping, as usual, although I limited it to the grey areas only, the obligatory rust effects, also very limited so they wouldn't overpower the white camouflage, and detail painting.

The exhaust, for example, was base coated with AK's Graphite acrylic paint, flooded with a few washes with the new Pigment Jockeys from VMS, then a layer of chipping fluid, some airbrushed remnants of camo which were quickly worn down, and a few dark stains after everything was sealed with flat varnish. The same procedure was used on the spare track links.

I also painted the road wheels, machine guns, tools, chipped the "hard" stowage such as jerry cans, bucket, etc... and now it's ready for stowage painting! I already base coated it with black brown as this will help tremendously with such a large and complex pile of carried stuff.

We'll see how it goes, because I'd like to finish weathering this model on Wednesday so the video will be ready this week!

More progress tomorrow!
