My friends, I had a tooth extracted on Thursday and it's been driving me up the freaking wall ever since, but I managed to finish the base coat on this grizzled JS-2, and it's now ready for weathering!
The decals (stars and numbers) from the kit are fantastic! They needed a bit of time and a lot of decal softener until they were sitting flush with the cast surface, but once they were in place, even the carrier film vanished!
White stripes were airbrushed over a layer of chipping fluid, this way I could remove the soft sprayed edges, add wear, and later paint over them with a fine brush, creating the hastily applied texture and some dripping paint runs.
Of course, the entire model received a round of Ammo Shaders (Grime) and a coat of VMS satin varnish. The metal tracks were blackened with the VMS chemical and they look fantastic!
So now I just need to take proper pictures, edit the video and tomorrow I'll continue at the workbench!
