My friends, Sunday was a lazy day because I felt really tired after the entire week, Monday was video editing day, so today was turbo-mode day π€£
And I managed to get the basic colors, including the mortar lines, done. I'm doing everything with a paintbrush, the only airbrushing was done with black primer in the shadowed areas and on the back wall. You can see the progress on these pictures (in reverse order), the only point of interest (or lack of) is the 7x7 cm area around the bricked-in window. This area is painted only in the most basic colors because it will be covered with the large painted advertisement.
The mortar lines were applied dry - the attic was covered with a mixture of fine sand and plaster, the rest of the house is just fine sand (0.25mm grain size). I'm very lucky to have these different sized sand samples thanks to my friend who used to work in a cement mixing factory π This sand-colored mortar is seen in one of my inspiration photos and I think it's a pretty interesting detail.
Tomorrow I want to paint the outhouse, for now it's primed black because the rocks won't have any mortar lines, and, hopefully, I'll manage to paint the advertisement! Oh my, I'm calling the spirit of Byrrh - Vin Tonique to give me strength and steady hand!!!!
Then, of course, the concrete details, peeling plaster, etc. And, of course, weathering! Grime, moss, dirt, all the fun stuff!
