My friends, my package from China finally arrived. Pretty "soon" considering I placed the order in August π But it was held at customs for 10 days, although in the end I wasn't charged any extra money.
So, this might be the most exciting kit I've ever laid my hands on. A fully 3D printed AMX-50 in 1/35th scale from Resinscales. Not a printed master which is then re-cast in resin, this is a unique, raw 3D print. It's crazy to see what the technology can do!
What's so cool about it? The whole package contains less parts than your average 1/72nd scale model and it can be assembled in one evening. Pretty neat for collectors who want to have the model in their showcase ASAP. But of course it can be improved with textures, welds and all kinds of stuff!
What's not so cool? Well... the price. 160$ for a kit ain't cheap. But considering these models are produced by a small team of enthusiasts and each one is printed (I can imagine the print time for one kit is 2-3 days), the price isn't so blown out of proportion. Compared to 100$ full resin kits from a few years ago, those you'd buy but never build because nothing fits together and every part is distorted... well, in any case, they have a pretty interesting portfolio of weird and unusual tanks, so check out their site if this interests you!
