Not very accurate, but they're free, and they make for an excellent ground scatter. They're just starting to dry up, so it's the perfect time to go out and collect them before they're all gone in the wind π

Ah! Catkins. Yes, i remember someone in the very distant past using Birch catkins for scatter. But in the sixties and seventies the garden was the only place to find "stuff" to use modelling wise. My parents were a little concerned at my interest in digging up rock plants and alpines to inspect the roots for tree manufacture together with copper wire.
