Some extra fixing and...

I really appreciate the feedback on the previous post, thanks to that I was able to repaint the open hatch. I couldn't find a good ref photo for it so I took some Tamiya Sherman product photos as a guide, where it was just painted green, so I presumed it was a steel plate used to make the hatch thicker π So it's now properly painted as leather padding. BTW, the Leather Brown paint from Vallejo is excellent for this!
I also did some extra oil and enamel work on the tools and other details, and of course, impacts.
I'll be finishing the video today so tomorrow we'll continue - probably with exhausts and additional rust tones over the largest chips. Then the model will be ready for stowage painting and the final weathering touches!
Just giving you a quick update, it's kind of a busy weekend. I'm about to leave the house right now but I'll reply to you all from my laptop π

2021-03-31 17:55:50 +0000 UTCI only used two different fluids in my life so far, both coincidentally in the Tiger F13 painting video. One from Ammo and the other from VMS. I felt like they behaved very similarly, VMS dries into a clear finish while Ammo turns very dark blue. VMS was probably a tad easier to remove afterwards, but overall I have no complaints over either of them!

2021-03-30 07:04:33 +0000 UTCthe leather and the entire kit look great, but on a different subject; you tipped me off to the great varnishes from VMS and I was wondering if you had used their masking fluid and what your thoughts are on it. i have tried Vallejo and Molotow. neither of these flow well and become sticky very quickly and are hard to apply in a detailed manner. the Video of the VMS product on their website shows it remaining liquid for a longer period of time. Can you recommend this or another masking liquid?
