Although it already looks kinda finished? ๐คฃ Is that the power of pre-shading and pre-dusting? Who knows!
Anyway, my friends, of course the chipping didn't take just one day, why would it? But really, I had to do a bunch of other stuff so I didn't have that much time to sit down, but let's be fair, two days? For a large modern vehicle? I'm not dissatisfied at all! And of course, I didn't stop at the "very subtly chipped" stage, of course I went all in. But still, when you look at it as a whole, it looks quite subtle.
So what's the secret behind this 2 day chipping speedrun? Well, sponge for the light chips, just focusing on the most exposed areas, no refining or anything (it looked really crap tbh), and then a round of steel chips with a brush, where I wasn't too focused on making them picture perfect. I think the darker base coat is more forgiving in this regard. And then of course, a rust wash which didn't take that long either because there's less chips than usual.
Overall I'm pleasantly surprised. I assembled the model just for the pictures and final video shots, of course I'm going to disassemble it again for weathering. And speaking of weathering, I'm thinking loose dirt, some twigs, wet stains etc?
Anyway, time for some video editing!
Also, the advanced tool video will come out after the BMR series, which will be 4 parts. I decided against making a vignette for it, it's just too big and too long. Besides, I can still make the terrain I had in mind for another vehicle!
