Cheeps are done! π I'm so sorry for taking so long, but this is a big model, and it takes time.
But things need to change, at least for a little bit. I chipped the lower half of the model with VMS reverse chipping paints and next time I'm gonna use them on the entire model. I finally have a decent grip on how they perform and what to expect from them, and they really can make the process a lot faster and also easier if anyone isn't confident with brush painting chips.
As you can see, I also took advantage of the medium grey paint I had mixed for the chipping to also paint most of the details. Metal parts are gonna receive a rusty wash as a part of the next step, while others, like periscopes and other fixtures, are gonna remain like that. Exhausts are also ready for a rust wash. These were especially simple - the pipe is still left in the Ammo One Shot white primer and I just added some black brown chips with a sponge. A rust wash will tie it all together nicely.
Of course, I didn't paint the tracks yet... but I will! I want this model to be ready for dust and mud tones at the end of the video. Also I totally forgot to paint the fire extinguisher... oh well, but today is going to be about rust tones.
Also, sorry again for taking so long, but every chipping update would've been the same, just more and more chips. Now the model will be progressing at a more steady pace again, so we'll be back to regular updates again π
