Some good (and some bad) news
Added 2020-09-17 00:12:11 +0000 UTCWell, my friends, the video is finished, and so are all the parts required for the running gear. There was a lot of flash on the wheels and torsion arms - not fun 🥱So why isn't the running gear already glued together?
Well, it's because the vignette is going to happen, it can be done in a reasonable size so I need to make a basic cutout of the styrofoam to get a basic shape of the terrain (the tank will sit on a slight slope). Then I'll be able to form the running gear over the small terrain imperfections - I'll be cutting the slope by hand, so there will be some!
The bad news is... I bought the wrong set of tracks!!! This is the... I don't know, late type or something? Each pair of links is build out of 5 parts... luckily I noticed only after a few minutes, because working with them would be a nightmare... as usual with Friulmodel, each part needs to be drilled out. So in the heat of the moment I ordered the correct set from eBay which shouldn't take too long to arrive. These will only have 2 links per pair, not 1 huge link and 4 smaller connectors.
Yeah, this sucks!!! Guess I now have to build a King Tiger at some point! 😂

Luckily, with grab handles it's usually easier to make a new one than trying to find it

2020-09-18 00:23:35 +0000 UTCTotally unrelated but I found a new version of the carpet monster when I lost the chuck screw from my airbrush only to have my wife find it being spat out by the vacuum cleaner on the stair carpet 10-15 meters from my paint booth. Go figure how that happened????
