2023-03-11 03:07:14 +0000 UTCYou got it! The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire. The grandmother of all "renaissance" faires here in the States. There's a dozen plus major multi weekend events and hundreds of small one/two weekend faires across the country. Southern was set in the Elizabethan period and emphasized the history. Giving the faire goer an immersive experience. It is So. Calif. after all so a suspension of disbelief is required. Other events vary widely on their efforts at history, some don't bother with it. Over the years with changes in ownership the focus has shifted for us as well. The group I'm with at Faire still adheres to the founding vision. I'm a history nerd and Faire is the place I get to play.

I Googled Southern Faire and only found Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale. I supposed that was not it, but went to the Wikipedia article and found it was started in 1963 so...maybe?

I can't send you a screenshot of what I see as I can't add pics to this thread and I can't message you. (I suppose I could put it in the community tab but I don't want to clutter that up.) I wonder if it's a feature of the £9.5 a month tier (which I think you are?) I'm only the £5/mth tier. Or a browser difference? (I'm using MS Edge)
