Signs are in place

Well hello my friends, hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! I'm still quite beat up from yesterday, went for a big ride, 50km loop with 1100m vertical elevation without any food and too little water. Started bonking half way and just barely made it down the last trail to my car (see third pic of me dead  💀)  Lesson learned for future rides!

Anyway, today I finished the signs - some chipping on the metal ones, painted the wires and then gave every chip and metal surface a rust wash followed with enamel dust tones. Superglued them to the base, laid a few more stones around the broken beam to blend it with the terrain, painted those as well, and while the gravel fixer was drying I painted some leftover styrene planks and laid them around. Two of them started "melting" due to my overly generous use of enamel thinner so they had to go (see second pic)... My first idea was to litter them around the entire base but then I thought it might be nice to have one cluttered corner and the other one untouched by humanity...

All that's left now is to glue the tank in place and paint the sides of the base black, but I'm keeping that for tomorrow for that grand final reveal 😁

Also, I know I talked about this already, but please be patient with me. I know I've been kinda slow during this summer, but full time or no full time, I'm sure most of us lose some of that modelling mojo during this time of year. It was the same for me last year... that Type 5 Chi-Ri took me forever to finish! Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm aware of it, and maybe some of the updates are not exactly jaw dropping, and I'm sorry. But if you'll stick with me, we'll get those productive juices flowing again as the autumn and winter comes! It's already getting noticeably colder here, I mean, this was the coldest summer I can remember (read: normal temperature that won't kill you), and I'm sure this year won't stop being weird anytime soon...
