Base coat = done

Hey friends, so today I didn't do that much in terms of modelling, instead I've been already editing the video and making some video thumbnails.

Basically I only added the repainted stars and added some different OD tones on the stowage.

Stars were first airbrushed using a photoetched stencil from Lion Roar (one of those things you buy and use like once or twice) and then veeeeeery carefully sprayed the diffused outline. This had to be done without any stencil and it was probably the most difficult part of this paintjob 😆

And I brushed some diluted Lifecolor OD paints on the stowage, well mostly the jerry cans and other metal things. This was done in the same fashion like on the T-90, so basically a glaze to keep some of the paint texture visible. The remaining stowage has to be matt so I'll paint it later.

Finally I gave it one more coat of satin varnish and now it's ready for weathering. I'll most likely start again with a wash and then we'll see if it needs some oil paints.

I think we'll be back at the workbench during the weekend? Does that sound good?

These ideas often come out of nowhere, pretty much in the moment 😁

Night Shift

Figures might be too much at this point 😁 It's always about taking baby steps! We'll see how this Sherman cargo will turn out... there's a lot of folds and creases on those tarps, so I'm hoping these will make the highlighting and shadowing easier!

Night Shift

Great work as usual uncle night shift. I get new ideas every time I read your posts

Too cool! Watched today's video- I hope you're not staying awake at night terrified of all that sto- I mean "cargo"! I am sure you will handle it well. I thought your highlights and shadows on the T90's sandbags looked great! Especially considering white is such a tricky color to light appropriately. Soon this cargo will be nothing for you and we will be asking you to push yourself even farther by painting... Figures 😮
