Busy weekend

It was busy indeed!

Yesterday I was finally able to meet some of my extended family as the lockdown has been finally lifted in Slovakia, but I also managed to texture the turret and also film a video about it... there's more than just putty over there 😁 Not sure if I'll make it into separate video, but I'd like to. I had a slight headache in the evening so I just went to bed, so that's why I didn't post an update. I'm sorry for that.

Today it was pouring the entire day, so I just spent the entire day modelling... got all the details on the turret done (except the MG), also assembled the tracks and did a few small things on the hull. Tomorrow I'll make the concrete armor!

Also, I kept the tracks removable for easier painting. You can see a small gap between links around the idler at the back, that's where the track isn't connected. The gap will be closed once I glue them on the model when everything is painted.

What surprised me is how small the turret is compared to the hull... can't even imagine how tiny it'll look once the hull is enclosed in a concrete coffin 😄

Anyway, that's about it for tonight, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Why would you not build something other than German? 😁

Night Shift

Oh the sight was actually empty, just a gaping hole! That really caught me off guard. Also there is no internal periscope detail on the commander's hatch (which is the only one that can be opened)... well, needless to say, I just added a strip of styrene inside that port, and I'll paint it so that it looks like a periscope.

Damn that is going to be a nice model :) you inspire me to try something non-german ;)

Beautiful texturing on the turret. Really convincing. The only thing I would replace on the turret is the molded in 'sighting vain' and replace it with some photo etch option or something scratch built. Really cool how you put the foundry marks and weld seams on various part of the turret. Nice attention to detail. Glad you know about the Prime Portal too!😀
