Hey guys, so the engine deck is done... I think.... still not sure if I'll leave the extinguisher mount empty. I guess that's a pretty important piece of gear and would most likely be present even on a beaten up tank like this. I'm gonna keep the most important tools on the tank, which means the gun cleaning rods and... and the fire extinguisher, I guess?

Speaking of cleaning rods, I'll scratchbuild them tomorrow from brass tubes. Their brackets are already in place, and they needed some epoxy putty love because they were actually solid blocks of steel on the real thing, not hollow like the photoetched replacement.

Also the antenna mount is a brass piece which I don't even remember when I bought it... but I had to use it since I stole the original plastic piece and used it on the Rutscher.

This entire PE process is quite slow, and I suppose it will remain like this until the model is finished, because at this moment pretty much everything is in place, except tool clamps and other PE details. God this will make me think twice before buying another Tiger and tossing a ton of photoetch at it!

Brad Pitt's words from Fury come into my mind... "it'll be over... soon... but until then a lot of photoetched details will have to be glued in place"

Most crucial of all: the handle for the engine inertial starter! Have a look: https://www.warhistoryonline.com/whotube-2/tigerhand-cranking-engine-start.html

Real tiger didn't have that many shiny bling parts 😄 but it won't be as shiny once it gets covered with paint
