These are essentially techniques from Adam Wilder's book. I started doing them a little differently over time, for example I gave up on painting wood grain, or started applying two layers of different greys on metal parts... but my point is my tool game used to be so weak I was intentionally avoiding them. I'd buy a photoetched set just to use empty tool clamps 🤣
