Hey guys, I've been slacking a bit during the past few days. I'm slowly getting into the Christmas mood and mentally bracing myself for all the family reunions, visits and all that holiday stuff. But funny enough this might be the first time in my life when I'm actually kinda looking forward to it. Just being able to do nothing feels kinda good after these few months.
I've been also taking it kinda slow because I had to think a lot about the technique on this model. Although I did the same two-tone camo brush chipping on the Soviet Ball Tank, this one is kinda specific due to its colors. Yes, the light yellow chipping looks truly overwhelming but it gets toned down as you can see on the fender. The point is to leave a much bigger light outline around the steel chips... to make the illusion of the green paint peeling off showing the yellow layer underneath. There's a more complex approach to this when you chip the camo patches with the base color right after you're done painting, even before you seal it with a varnish, but I wanted to make this more simple but I'll definitely explore the latter method on another model. Also, the armored plates won't be as rusty as the fender. Or, at least, that's what I've been telling myself so far 🤣
Anyway, that's it for tonight, tomorrow is a pretty awesome day, so enjoy it and Merry Christmas!
